Falling Leaves Sympathy

Welcome

I have had this post half done for days!!  I'll blame the heat!

A special welcome to Sue Blamey of Sue's Card Spot - do pop over and see her beautiful work!

Another sympathy card today ..

-   I started by stamping the large leaf stamp for Concorde and 9th Uplifting Thoughts Set, using a technique demonstrated by Natasha Foote here.

I then added a couple of strips of gold behind the opposing corners of the main panel - these were made by smoothing out the gold wrapper from chocolates and gluing the wrappers to cardboard...

The greeting, from the same set, was stamped using the darkest of the inks used on the leaves,
Memento Cottage Ivy.

I added a strip of gold tape to the inside, and the two sentiments came from the

Scalloped Scripture

Welcome

Another fortnight has rolled past, it seems in the blink of an eye, and the new Word Art Wednesday Challenge is now open.
Our sponsor this fortnight is The Stamps of Life , with a generous $25 voucher for the winner.

My card this time started with a sheet of paper from my spray box, that had predominantly gold spray on it, but there are some hints of blue there too.

I die cut the scripture into an oval, and then framed it with the pink die cut frame, and mounted it over the fancy die cut which was layered over the background paper.

In the 'flowers' on the die cut, and around the edge of the scripture panel, I added some clear
Kindy Glitz to enhance the sparkle of the card

I'll See You At Noon

Welcome

I had intended to post before this, but it has been a very busy time with lots of change - I have family now living with me, and another part of the family is packing sell their house and move to another town, so lots of babysitting etc going on...

This card was made for my New Zealand swap group where the challenge was to to use a funny picture or stamp of a creature, with a funny saying - this is my result, which the recipient loved, as they are no longer an early riser!!

The stamp set is from Art Impressions Spring Chicken set. and coloured with Polychromo pencils

Loved this sentiment, and stamped it in Espresso ink,  die cut it to form a speech bubble and added a 'pointer'.
There was some sponging with Memento Ladybug ink before I removed it from the die, then  ran the edges over the ink pad, and popped it up on foam dots.

The chicken I stamped in Memento Peanut Brittle ink, then coloured it.
Glossy Accents was added to her mug and glasses

The panel looked rather bare, so I used an (old) edge embossing folder on the left hand end, and brushed it lightly with a fairly dry bush using more espresso ink to pick up the design.
The finished panel was mounted over a kraft, then red, cardstock.

The inside received the same embossing treatment.

Desk Finds!!

Welcome, I am so glad you have visited.
And an extra welcome to Gail Jean, my newest follower.
Gail, if you have a blog I would love to be able to follow you back.

I was sorting my desk the other day, and came across two pieces - this one where I had stamped with DO inks on an acrylic block onto water colour paper. This was the first print I took.

And this die cut, that was plain white and rather boring

I trimmed the print, and placed it to the left of a piece of cream linen textured card, rounding the right hand corners on both layers

To enliven the die cut, I covered it with Versamark ink, and then a layer of perfect pearl Perfect pearls, which gave it an incredible lustre.

I finished it with an sentiment embossed with Cranberry EP, (which is 20 years old and still going strong),  on yellow cardstock, trimmed to a fishtail on the left end of the panel.  To that I added a die cut dragonfly which I had cut from a purple sparkle card.

I finished the inside with some glitter Washi in a matching pink tone.

Copper, Scripture and a Bookmark

Welcome

I trust you have had a wonderful New Year, and that all your resolutions will come to pass -
I have got canny in my senior years and just don't make them - that way I am not disappointed or frustrated if they don't work out.

This first challenge for the year over at Word Art Wednesday is sponsored by the wonderful company Top Flight Stamps, with a generous $25 voucher for the winner.

As soon as I saw how this scripture had been crafted, I thought of a bookmark

I had in mind to make it with a masculine slant, so once I had trimmed out the scripture, I layered it over a kraft layer cut to a slightly larger size.  The top was shaped with a paper Roses tag die

I had this wee Celtic knot stamp that I embossed in copper at the bottom of the text
I also embossed the edges of that panel with copper ep.

The top was finished with some twine and chiffon ribbon
