Welcome
This month's Challenge in my small swap group was to create a woodgrain background - something I have not previously done.
I am still with my friend, so I will say now that I have no idea of the brand of some of the supplies I used..
I started by scoring my background, then smearing PVA glue over it with my finger.
Once dry, I dragged Jamestown Blue, Weathered Wood and Chestnut inks down it
I die cut the floral spray and greeting from dark brown and then peach coloured card and offset them
I added the snippets of turquoise card in opposite corners of the main panel, then angled it over the peach layer, which was in turn angled over the dark brown base .
The final touch were the turquoise gems added to the centre of the flowers (see the main photo)
The inside was finished with a couple more snippets.

WOW! The woodgrain you created is gorgeous, Maxine! I love the die cut flowers you used, too... they allow the woodgrain to be the focal point of your beautiful card!
That's a neat technique! I like your colors they really pop!
An interesting technique, great to use for men's cards too

Beautiful card, love that gorgeous colour and pretty design...
Clever natural weathered wood creation Maxine! Elated how the colors are picked up from the woodgrain. Thank you for sharing your handsome card with us at Jan's Digi Blog Challenge. Hope to see you at our next challenge. Good Luck and Happy Crafting!

You did a great job on that wood grain background. Something I have never tried. It is a very effective way to set off the simple flower cuts. Very nice card. Kate x

Wow Maxine, what a fabulous background this is. I must take a note of how you made it and try to replicate the colours you used. It looks so good with the brown flower die cuts on it.
