A Masked Scripture

Welcome

This is my second post as June guest designer for Word Art Wednesday.

I printed the scripture off to the size I wanted it, and then decided to make a tall narrow card, so folded it, ensuring the scripture sat in the centre, and went from there.
(My apologies for the shadow on the photo - I did not realise it was there until I started this post, and it was too late to re-take it, as the photo was taken in daylight)

I used masking fluid to cover the printed scripture, masked the edges of the card, then sprayed it with Kitsch Flamingo Distress spray, and oversprayed that with  Lyndsay's Get a Guy Gold mica spray.

This gave just a slight sparkle to the card front.

Next I placed an old stencil (company is now defunct) over the background, and inked through it with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink.

Next the big reveal came, and I took off all the masking tape and fluid, and I was pleasantly surprised at the results.

The final detail was to tie a triple bow with a narrow white organza ribbon, and some sparkly pink ribbon that I think is supposed to be used for knitting - it is very old, and I have three colours that have come my way from estates being cleared...

Maxine, the use of masking fluid on the words was such a wise choice. Your card is creative and lovely!

Lovely slimline design, Maxine. I have not used masking fluid. Very effective for this technique! Thank you for Guest Designing at WAW this month. Take Care!

What a fabulous idea (to cut up the words into strips). I should have done this with my card. I made a "woops" when using some stuff (gooey gold stuff) and I had to throw away the scripture....all covered in gooey gold stuff. This idea would have fixed my problem. Also, we don't have a printer so sweet Ginny had mailed me the scriptures. Anyway...this is a great idea that I need to remember. I'm SO grateful for you and your willingness to Guest Design for me this month. You are such a blessing to me overall.
Thank you also for your comment this morning. EVERY comment you leave me is greatly appreciated. And by the way, I'd be more than happy to send you the fishing stamp set I used on the card I shared today. I'm not quite sure what that involves (customs forms, etc.) but I don't mind sending if it you can send me the information I need to do so. I'd love seeing what you would create with this sweet set. I actually think I may have another fishing set as well. I'll take a peek. Thanks again, my friend. You mean so much to me and I do PRAISE GOD for you.

How clever to think of using masking fluid to ask the words on this beautiful card. I love the sentiment and the stencil is just perfect but what really adds to it for me is the little bow at the base. So cleverly put together - a huge success.
Blessing, Neet xx
