A fun card for a younger person who loves dogs...

I started this using a 3-d embossing folder of sunflowers  by Nellie Snellen.

After embossing the white panel I watercoloured the fence and flowers, then brushed ink onto the sky and between the fence palings.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts and was clear embossed over blue ink, and the banner hand cut and mounted on foam dots

The dog image I found online, it was a freebie that I intended to acknowledge (as requested) but I have just thrown out the paper with the information on it.

After sizing and printing the image, it was fussy cut, tucked behind the fence and the head popped up on foam dots

Is Pussy Tip Toe-ing Through the Tulips??

I made this card for my Granddaughter whose birthday it is today

She loves cats, flowers and gardening, so loved this card.

I started with a piece of card that I had mopped up some ink with, and then sprayed (or should that be blotched) with some Mica spray.

The sentiment was cut with a snippet of the same dark blue card I used for the base, layered over two more layers of white card and then coated with Wink of Stella before adhering it.

The tulips were die cut from snippets of white card, embossed and stencilled with memento inks -  the back layer I brushed the ink onto, the other I 'painted' using a wet brush dipped in the ink that I had 'stamped' onto an acrylic block. 

The two cats were also cut from a snippet of black card - they are an old Memory Box set of dies.  The front layer of tulips I mounted the flowers with foam tape to give some dimension, and added one of the cats peeping out between from the blooms

The inside I finished with an old 'fat cat' stamp from my stash.

Another masculine card - relying more on texture this time

The background was based on a video by Natasha Foote, but the embossing was not as marked as I would have liked it - not sure why, but...  to try to emphasis it, I wiped my versa mark ink over it, and poured over copper embossing powder.  

Unfortunately, because the relief pattern was not very high, it stuck to most of the card front, so out came a paint brush and I selectively brushed a lot of it off - not exactly the result I wanted, but I pushed on regardless..

The sentiment was stamped across a small square of white card,  and adhered to one of the background panels - but it really didn't cooperate when I glued it on.

The stamp and die set are from Paper Rose, and I stamped it in Versa Fine Clair Pinecone ink,

 mounted it on a strip of copper paper.  I added a wee piece of the same paper under the opposing corners when I mounted the main panel on the red base.

A strip of the copper paper was used on the insert also, and I layered a trimming from the main panel over it - I know I took a photo of it, but it has disappeared - oh the joys of technology :)

Scraps and Sparkle

This card was made for a young boy, and actually started with the scrap of corrugated card that I printed off when gel printing one day, and there was also some white acrylic paint on it too

I then coloured the sky blue and the foreground brown, and added some green over the print, which acted as a resist.

The images are a very old set that I stamped and embossed, then coloured them with watercolour paints.  I used a gel pen for the silver elements, and put glossy accents on all the 'glass' ie, windows and headlights, fussy cut them and adhered them to the card front.

What I did not capture well with the camera was all the sparkle I added to the background

I also copper embossed the sentiment and the edges of the focal panel, before placing it onto a Cranberry base

I finished the inside with some copper dotted washi tape and another image from the stamp set.

A Mini-Moo

It was my turn to set the challenge this month in our swap group - and I chose as the challenge 

A CAS card with a mini-moo.

I had never heard of it until a few days before, when I read about it on SCS .  

Here is the definition of a mini moo: 

A mini moo is a card that is 1.125" X 2.75" - half of a business card lengthwise. 

This size is great for using up scraps

I started with a scrap of copy paper that I had used as a mask when spraying a background, and trimmed it to size.  I then stamped it with a wee floral sprig - it is one of my oldest wood mounted stamps with no brand on it.  I used Versa Clair Pine Cone brown ink, and painted it with mice based paints

The panel was edged with Aquatini ink and mounted over  cardboard for some dimension.

I centred the words below it and stamped in Aquatini ink, before edging the card with it also.

The spray was stamped inside the card, also using the brown ink,

 I also repeat stamped the image down the side of the envelope.

Lace ... Stencilled

In the small swap group I belong to the theme last month was to use lace..

I love lace, and have made some, so I really enjoyed this challenge.

Warning photo heavy post, so I won't bore you with many details

This finished card with some gold Nuvo drops - they still don't cooperate for me!

A detail of the lace I chose, and a gold embossed sentiment from a magazine freebie

A stencil I made with the lace - the ink I used is lawn Fawn Forget Me Not blue

I stencilled swags of lace down the feature panel before adding the stamped, pencil coloured and fussy cut tulip from Stamp Simply, and also added a wee tie of nylon lace around the stem

I then stencilled the insert, and the envelope to match

A Birthday Cackle

It's time for our mid-month inspiration post for We Love Stamping,

where our challenge is Anything Goes, with an optional theme of (real) Birds or Animals.

I love this sassy chick from the (discontinued) Art Impressions Spring Chicken set.

I coloured her with my Polychromo pencils, and then used an old set of sentiment stamps for the greeting, which I cut by hand to form a speech bubble

I mounted Miss Sassy on foam dots over a faux wooden panel I had created, then I cut the base of the card front to form a trellis.

 I embellished the trellis with three layered diecut flowers, and some die cut leaves that I dabbed onto a die inkpad to add interest

I layered some micro beads in gold to add texture to the flower centres.
