Christmas in July - Guest Designer

Welcome
Thank you for taking the time to visit, I appreciate you calling in.
I recently won a Guest Designer spot at Jan's Digi Stamps.  The theme for the challenge this month is Christmas in July.  I selected the Silent Night set to use.
All the Christmas stamps sets are on sale this month!!

I chose to use the coloured images as they are so gorgeous,
and selected the star, crib and sentiment -from the set.
The first two  images I sized and printed onto white card,
the sentiment I printed onto vellum and gold heat embossed.

I prepared the dark blue background by stencilling some sunrays in gold paint , and then splattering the rest of the card base with the gold. - To divide the background I added a strip of gold washi tape.

The crib I cut out as a rectangle, rounded the lower corners with a punch, then diecut the top with a circle die.  I ran gold ink over the edges, and mounted it using foam tape

The sentiment was also edged with gold

This inside was finished with some more of the washi tape.

It was such a privilege to design for this challenge - thank you for the opportunity, Jan and team.

Floral Felicitations

Welcome,
thank  you for taking the time to visit today.
A special welcome to my newest follower, Mary Smith of Grateful Heart Greetings, who makes some beautiful creations, and is very generous in sharing art she has created.

Today is the start of the July Challenge at We Love Stamping, where the theme this month is
Anything Goes with an optional twist of  Fabulous Florals,
and where we have two gorgeous floral prizes from AALL & Create

I started this card by stamping a Stamplorations image, Bloom Border 1 and white embossing it
then painting it in Twinkling H2O's , which gave a gorgeous lustre to the image.

After fussy cutting the image, I decided to place it against a very dark blue base.
I sited the sentiment and white embossed it.

Then die cut a white frame and placed it on the blue base before angling the image and adhering it.
The final touch were some iridescent sequins, that sometime look white and then various colours show up as the angle the light hits it changes.

The inside was finished with an 'off the page' stamping of the image using Memento London Fog ink
I decorated the envelope in the same manner, but did not photograph it.

These are the fabulous prizes from AALL & Create

Textural Birthday

Welcome,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog

I made this card some time ago, and have only just now got around to blogging it - thus I cannot tell you in detail the materials I used.... sorry.

The embossing folder is the Altenew 3D folder 'Gem'.  I ran an ink pad over the raised edges, and the rest of the colour was added using mica based sprays

The cup cake was a digi image I had printed three copies of.  I water coloured this one and fussy cut it,  adding the gems and some WoS to the icing.  It was mounted on foam dots.
The sentiment stamp was a magazine freebie from years ago, stamped in blue and clear embossed.

When I mounted the focal panel, I added some dark blue card under opposing corners, and some more gems - some old flat back adhesive rhinestones

In the oabove photo you can just see some of the sparkle this card has, and the dimension in mounting of the cupcake and sentiment banner

This inside was finished with some deep blue sparkle scotch tape.

Blue Stitched flowers

Welcome

I was recently asked to make a card for a centenarian's birthday - the information I was given was that she loved her garden and reading, and the colour blue.

My starting point was a piece of light card from a calendar page that had some floral images

I then found a free book image on Google, sized and printed it off, and masked each page as I stamped the other with a very old script stamp using Memento London Fog ink.

I coloured the page edges with a cube of gold ink, and was very pleased that the script on the pages echoed the script on the base paper.

The flowers are a Spellbinders die from set released last year.  I stitched them with three strands of stranded cotton, with a strand of Krenick blue glitter thread.  The yellow centres were stitched with three strands of some variegated lemon rayon sewing thread.

The words and numbers were cut from medium blue glitter card.

The inside was decorated with the two strips of florets from the same die set, stitched with a lighter blue thread and the same sparkle thread

With a French knot for the centre in the same lemon thread

The card was finished with two groups of flat back adhesive pearls, which have been in my stash from very early in my crafting days.

I needed to make an envelope, so used some rainbow 12x12 patterned paper with happy birthday printed over it.

Poppies for Mother's Day

Welcome

Mother's Day in New Zealand is in May, so this card was requested a wee while ago.

I started by cutting the white panel with a stitched rectangle die, then masking the edge to stamp the image - an older Sweet n Sassy set, precious poppies,

The images were coloured with my Polychromo pencils, then coated with WoS, which seems to have smoothed out the shading somewhat.

I then brushed some ink onto the background

And added some 'worker stamps' in blue, golden Glitz and grey

The envelope was given a poppy border, using a smaller stamp from the set

And the inside finished with another stamp from the set, and a green and orange trimming - the orange is two layers of narrow washi tape.

Something Fishy - again...

Welcome

As many of you know I make quite a lot of fish themed cards over the year, so here is another one..

I sprayed the blue base of the card with Lindy's Hydrangea Blue through a diamond stencil, to mimic a fishing net.  I then doodled with a silver pen around the edges

My trusty fish stamp was stamped in blue ink and clear embossed on a pearlescent panel, which was cut with an oval die and doodled around.
The sentiment was computer generated, and I sketched around it with a blue 'sparkle' pen

Turns out I forgot to take photos of the inside, so that's it for this post - short and sweet

Upcycled Jar

Welcome

I made this the other day when I wanted a wee gift for a friend
I had recently emptied this jar, and removed the label, but the jar was still slightly sticky, and this sparked the idea...

I wrapped it in lace,  adding some double-sided sticky tape to help hold it on

I then found some double sided paper and used a NBUS Nellie Sneddon folded heart die to make this pleated heart - this was not my first attempt - there were no instructions with the die and so a few 'oops' occurred in the making. Of course, since then I have found instructions online!!
The paper underneath the heart is the other side of the pink.
The ribbon is from my stash and matched perfectly
