It's been a few days since I was last here - we have been spending them with family - and sharing various bugs...
When I made this card I went for strong colours on the background so the white frame and image would take centre stage and not get 'lost'.

I have bought some new dies and am working through using them before I put them away. By doing that I can't just ignore them as they are 'in my face'! This photo frame die was one of them.
The Kiwi Stamping image of poppies was stamped using Rich Cocoa ink and coloured with chalks. The edge of the frame was sponged with gold ink, and the butterflies cut from the same card as the base.
The 'photo' was mounted over some strong green patterned paper by Amy Tangerine, and then onto the bright yellow base - both layers were sponged with matching inks. The ribbon and rhinestones were from my stash, and seemed to brighten up the whole card.

Maxine you have so many lovely poppy stamps. I love them all. Although I would not choose the 'hard-yellow' card, I think you were right to go for it with this card, and I like the way you have brought it to the main image as well with those dear little butterflies. A lovely cheery card to brighten someone's day. Kate x
