Welcome
I had intended being back here sooner, but life has been crazy busy, and I have had a houseful of guests for three days. Not that I am complaining, and the gardens are looking good too!
I made this card for a swap in a group I belong to, and the theme for this month was 'floral'.
The recipient is a wonderful cardmaker, and has an awesome CAS style, so I kept my card very CAS.
The image is a Kiwistamping one, coloured with watercolour paints. The edges of the panel were coloured with Cottage Ivy ink, and it was mounted over an embossed panel
The sentiment, also from Kiwistamping, a local (N.Z.) company whose website is down, was heat embossed using Renaissance Red ep. The edges of the embossed and stamped panels, and the card base, were all edged with Poppy Red ink.
I was running out of inspiration, and needed a second card for a birthday in a hurry, so duplicated the image and layout, changing the colour of the flowers, and painting them with mica paints
And using a vertical birthday greeting from Montarga Stamps (also a N.Z.company)
I enjoyed making both of these cards, and both were well received.

Love both cards Maxine. Nice to get into the garden, we went away for two weeks during Christmas and the garden suffered so it is finally smiling again. Been out there for the second week in a row, loving it.xx [aNNie]

A lovely pair of cards Maxine. I think mica paints are perfect for colouring poppies. They match the sheen you see on real poppy petals. But I actually like the red ones even more. A good layout for this stamp too. Kate xx
Very classy in either colorway. Like the simple design of the pretty EF that is in the background, and the vertical placement of the focal image. TFS &Hugs
Not certain if my earlier comment took! I like the classiness of each of these colorways. The vertical placement is just right, as is the simple elegance of the embossed background design. TFS & Hugs
Beautiful cards Maxine - your colouring is lovely and as usual you have rocked the embossing - well done! xo
Both beautifully coloured! And he if you have dreamed up a good design why not use it more? The both have a different feel... Hugs, Gerrina
Love this CAS style - both cards are gorgeous and made to look quite different by using different colour palette and greeting. Simply lovely!
Simple and very elegant with a nice bit of texture. CarolG

Hi Maxine!
Your cards are always so lovely, and I'm SO grateful to have you play along with us at Word Art Wednesday. Thank you for joining us.
I also wanted to thank you for your kind comment on my kitchy card. I am glad you told me about Thursday. I will be praying for you as well, and asking God to heal all your hand/arm nerves to give you quality of life (and crafting of course). I love to claim this verse and say it OUT LOUD when I'm hurting...."Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed. Save me, and I shall be saved. For THOU art my strength". God is gracious, and He always hears my cry and gives me the peace that passes understanding. I also know that it will be different for you going through surgery without your beloved husband. I will be lifting you up in prayer throughout the day Thursday. BIG hugs to you my dear friend.
