Momigami - aka kneaded paper!

Welcome

Sorry I have not been around much, but I have discovered that the reason I have not been keen on blogging, or visiting blogs, is because my eyes have deteriorated and I need new prescriptions for my glasses - all three pairs.  My everyday, my reading and my dark/driving lenses all need to be adjusted, and to top it all off, cataracts are starting to affect my sight also.

This was a card for the local swap group I am in, and the challenge was to use momigami, (this is a video link, and the technique starts at approx 8 minute mark) or paper kneading on the card....

I chose a handmade paper which had these gorgeous gold 'flowers' on it - and they survived the technique

As I wanted the paper to be the focal point, I simply stamped a gerbera (Uniko) in ladybug ink,  watercoloured it with the same ink, and diecut it before adding the micro beads in the centre.

The sentiment was die cut from a piece of card I had also painted with the ladybug ink, then it was adhered to a yellow panel
The panel and flower were adhered using my hot glue gun, as well as the paper to the base, as the result of the paper treatment left it somewhat glue resistant.

All the edges were coloured using the red ink.. even the insert panel, which I decorated with washi tape.

As I don't often make square cards, I had to make an envelope for it - I used double sided paper, and used a white sticker for the address panel.

I am linking this to:
(the stamp  and die were NBUS, the technique new to me)
