The weather here is slowly warming up as spring approaches. The 'summer heat' title is because of the colours on this card.

I made the background some time ago using distress stains on watercolour paper, then spritzing it with a glimmer spray. I then cut the sheet into four smaller pieces, and decided that
I did not like it!!
The other day I was wanting to make a card for a young man and this peeped out from under a pile of stash as I pulled out the brown base.... I grabbed it and set to.

The image is a very early purchase of mine from Kiwistamping that appears to have been retired. I moistened the stamp lightly, coloured it with watercolour crayons, sprayed with water and stamped it.
It did not transfer very well, so I added some colour with a fine brush.
The sentiment was embossed directly onto the background and some pearls added for emphasis. I also ran the edge of the watercolour paper across a gold ink pad before mounting it onto the brown base.
This photo shows some of the shimmer when the light hits the card at the right angle.

Funny isn't it how sometimes when we cast fresh eyes onto something we previously didn't like we can see it's potential and turn it into sometime gorgeous! well done, it's lovely!
