Welcome.
Once again I needed a sympathy card, (for a man) and this time I reached for some delightful patterned papers I had received in a RAK from Grace.
The sentiment is an ODBD stamp that I have used repeatedly. I gold embossed it onto cream card, and then cut it using a die, which I stenciled delicata gold ink through.
Initially I thought to place it just over the papers, but it lacked, so I fidgeted around with dies and papers and came up with this combination.
You can see in this photo the texture and sheen on the blue paper.
After assembling the papers on the cream base card, it was finished with the gold ribbon and some champagne pearls. I really like the muted tones to this card, and think it appropriate for the gentleman it is intended for.

Very nicely done, Maxine! I agree, the lovely blues, gold and tans are great for a masculine sympathy card. I also like that you fidgeted around with the placing of the die cut, it looks wonderful on top of the shiny blue paper.
Hi Maxine, I keep seeing your sweet face on many blogs I follow, so clicked a link from one of them, and came over to visit. (tried to join as a follower, discovered that I awready am!) It was serendipity, since you have the lovely Sympathy card for this post and I am in need of 2 at the moment. Love the way you've used the S/B die to showcase the simple but beautiful sentiment. So elegant with the pretty design papers used to create this lovely card. TFS & Hope you'll find time to visit me sometime too!
How elegant love the gold and the blue color combo- and the pretty pearls and gold ribbon are a fab touch! The pearls are the icing- beautiful way to finish off your card. So sorry you needed a Sympathy card.

Hi Maxine, your sympathy card is just gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Unruly PaperArts this month, unfortunately it does not meet our challenge criteria of combining our 'By the Sea' prompt with elements/colors from our inspiration picture so you will not be eligible to win the prize. I do hope however you will join us again next month. Danie
