Welcome
As I think it is world wide, life is busy here at the moment, hence my lack of blogging, and unfortunately, lack of crafting time.
The second project I taught at class last week was a wee calendar, with a panel of wax-paper resist coloured card behind it.
The card was a piece of glossy card. I usually buy my glossy card from a stamp company, but had not seen any recently, so I substituted some photo paper - a good choice.
After the wax was added to the glossy surface, I brayered Rhubarb Stalk ink over it, when dry, burnished it with a tissue then sprayed purple ink over it, which gave a wonderful depth to the background.
The glossy card was mounted over black card, and the ribbon sandwiched between the two layers. The finishing touch were a few gold sequins dotted around the back ground after the calendar was attached.
The calendar was a 'freebie' from the internet.

You did a beautiful job with the new calendar, Maxine! Love the results of the waxed paper resist. Also, good to know you can substitute photo paper for the glossy card. Thanks so much for participating in the December Stampotique Designers' Challenge!

What a cute project. I love the colors and that background technique you used.
You will laugh when you read this Maxine. I saw this stunning background and thought to myself, "Maxine is always on the cutting edge even when she is so busy". I finally had time to check this out and find these words, an oldie but goodie. We really appreciate that you are posting art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday. It’s a two week challenge. Advent and Christmas Blessings to you and yours, Carole
This is a gorgeous background! Thanks for the tip about the glossy photo paper (cheaper to buy this in bulk at a Costco or Sam's Wholesale than Kromecote too) A fab calendar. Love this look and paired with the black, oh very sophisticated! Merry Christmas, TFS & Hugs too
