Welcome
The other day I made a card with literally the scraps on my desk (and in my 'one day' box, which is just a place to put the scraps and make my desk look vaguely tidy.)
I started with the stamped/chalked background - I had made a few of these last year, and this was the final one. I had hesitated to use it as I wanted to do something 'different' this time, as I had made two similar cards. Here is an original.
I then found this scrap of blue, the negative of a die cut, which fitted neatly over the piece of chalked paper.
The sentiment was embossed with a silver glitter powder, despite the fact it looks lumpy in the photograph, it does sparkle beautifully. I sponged some interference ink around the sentiment after cutting the die shape. I attached it using some purple gem brads.
Here you can see how the blue paper reflects the light and brings the card to life. The finishing details were some paper flowers, secured with a matching brad, attached over some leaf ribbon. The purple ribbon is a self adhesive satin ribbon, with the glitter ric rac glued over it.
I even added some of the glitter ric rac to the inside.

Lovely card! Thanks so much for participating in our Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge.I am now your newest follower and would love it if you visited my Make Time To Craft Blog and became a follower too.
A brilliant card, and I looked at your other card, which is also pretty. This is a great technique, (new to me) and it looks like fun, but also not too difficult to do, with great results. That negative die cut made a terrific frame, and the color was quite stunning with your chalk design. TFS & Happy Sunday.
You always make the neatest backgrounds! Very pretty card!
Wow! How fabulous with just scraps. You are so creative and I love this look.

Your card of scraps is amazing, Maxine. I also enjoy doing this. We had a challenge at TKJ last year where we had to make a card from scraps, and I promised myself I wouldn't seek out ANYTHING if it wasn't already lying on my table as a leftover. It really works! Great job, my dear friend. You are SO creative.

I´ve got a box like that too, but I rarely remember to use what´s in it, so well done to you for making such good use of yours. The chalked paper is so pretty and I like the shape of the die-cut frame. Kate x
