Welcome.
I made this masculine card for a a keen fisherman, and despite it looking simple, it certainly did not want to co-operate in the making.
I started with the image, (from Graphics Fairy) which coloured up with no problems using chalk, then I used a silver pen and some Kindy glitz to add the ripples. All was going well....
But then....
I went to use some TH Embossed Kraft paper and messed up - big time, so flipped it over to the plain side and embossed it (with a TH folder) and found I had de-bossed the plain side, so I decided what the heck, and gently rubbed the Delicata Gold ink pad directly onto it, and voila - a worthy background!
Who wouldn't love to be out fishing on a sunny day?
I then stamped the sentiment onto blue card, (Shh, this is the second attempt) white embossed it and adhered it using some foam dots in the centre of the banner to give it some dimension.
The kraft panel was then mounted onto a blue layer and the card was finally completed.

well in the end it all turned out perfect looking. Great design and great masculine card.
The flipped side of Kraft doesn't feel flipped at all! I LOVED the texture it gives to your card and loved this relaxing scene of fisherman! :)

Mm know what you mean about uncooperative cards Maxine, and isn't it annoying when you deboss instead of emboss..
...great card in end! Thanks so much for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x

Isn't that the kicker, sometimes the most simple technique gives you the toughest time! Glad you stuck with it, the debossed pattern looks fabulous!! hugs :)
WOW! You sure do masculine cards well, Maxine! Gorgeous!!!
Fabulous!!! Love the gold over the embossing and that image is great for someone that likes to fish. Yes, I'd love to be out fishing right now too!

Hmm I thought that was normal for cardmaking! Anyway you had a super mancard result, you have to be happy with that.
I'd call that background serendipity! Looks fab to me. Great male card. Thanks so much for joining our "Anything Goes" challenge at Aurora Wings. xxD

I would have never known of these troubles, it worked out brilliantly! Love the idea of adding the shimmer like you see on the lake. Great man card!

Great Masculine card! My cards "always" take me much longer they I think they should. (And sometimes many tries with the stamping etc).
