Welcome
I taught this technique at my last card class. I saw it used and explained on a blog, and I cannot now remember where.

Found it - Thank you Lin, at Sending Hugs.
This is the post I saw it on
It is very easy to get this stunning effect - I cut the stitched rectangle, then embossed the surround before re-inserting the decorated rectangle
The Painted Thanks die is by Simon Says, and I layered it here using two layers of white card and one of patterned paper. Although it does not show in this photo, there are also two layers of WoS over the pp.
I had a creative opportunity here, as the rectangle originally was supposed to cut straight, but it wriggled in the cutting machine... so I also skewed the thanks, and it all looked as though it was planned that way to add interest!!
Once again the gold thread came to the fore, as it is so fine I could use it and was still able to insert the rectangle with no difficulties. I wrapped it around three time, secured the ends, and added the bow afterwards
The final detail were the three silver sequins - who said gold and silver should not mix??

Beautiful! Love that embossing folder you used Maxine. I've never even thought to do the sentiment die in patterned paper and it really adds so much to the card. LOVE IT!

I just love this card, the design and techniques used. I so agree, gold and silver do look great together!
Of course silver and gold should mix. Isn't there a Christmas song about them? Nifty card and nifty technique. I simply have to try this as I owe a card to a friend and she's gaga for these easily duplicated techniques. For once I can one up her!
Pretty card with great techniques being used!
Love all that embossed white space, Maxine, and the inlaid die cut!
Very cool idea to die cut and then emboss and re-insert the die cut area. Also love the die cut sentiment out of Dp. Very pretty!
Lovely technique and I like the sequins.
Thanks for playing with us at Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog.
