Welcome
Thank you for visiting
I posted this card just over a month ago, and the recipient is still waiting to receive it, but she did say to put it on the display in our swap group, so she could 'see' it there....
The challenge was to make a card using a pattern I think was called a swing and flip technique...
This is my result.
I started with some white card to which I had adhered a dictionary page, then the top layer of a paper napkin, followed by a layer of thinned glue with glitter in it. It is a technique I learned by watching a video by Sasha Reade here
Rather than add to the bulk of the card, as it was already heavy with just the two layers, rather than have a layer under the patterned paper, I simply sponged the edges of the squares before adhering them to the base. I added the die cuts to add colour and (visual) movement to the card.
When the card is opened up, the centre panel pops out, and there is a flower on both sides - unfortunately the lighting was such that I could not get a good 'front on' photo of the card opened up.
This shows the glitter on the background as well as on the die cut
I did not have enough of the home made glitter paper to use on the back panels, so simply used some very old commercial paper to finish the card, inking the edges with the same green as the front panels

Great project! Thanks for joining the challenge at We Love 2 Create challenge this week!
What a stunning card, Maxine. Hope that the recipient will get it soon. And be sure that she will LOVE it. Hugs, my friend.
Love your homemade patterned paper Maxine. Lovely and glittery. such a shame NZ Post have not delivered it!
What a great card, very clever and creative. What is happening to the post these days. It seems a problem all over the world. When I was a child, you could post a letter in the morning, and it would be delivered on the second post to the house in the afternoon, yes 2 deliveries a day!
Absolutely amazing Maxine, so many wonderful details and hopefully the recipient won't have to wait too much longer. Postal service world wide seems to take so much longer nowadays than what it should!
So glad you shared at my Garden Party!
Beautiful and unique design. Love the sparkly butterfly. Hope your friend receives it soon. Thanks for sharing with the October Challenge at A Cut Above.
Beautiful card Maxine, such a shame it hasn't reached it's destination. Fingers crossed it will get there soon. Thanks for the warm welcome back to the blogging world xx
Impressive! I am sure this card took time to do with all of the steps. Love this kind of project. You are a true craftsperson.
Hugs and Blessings
