I made this card when I was really struggling with an acute episode of 'no mojo', and I resorted to a magazine  kit.  

I chose this one because of the colours, as I know the recipient loves this colour palette.

I love the dimension and glitter this card has - subtle, but fabulous

The only thing I added was the faux stitched border

Love the sentiment on this topper panel, all part of the large kit.

I decorated the inside with this glittery panel

I love how the added elements all came together on the main panel to create a card that my friend loved.

Gold vines with birds

Once again it is time for a new Challenge at Word Art Wednesday, and this time our wonderful sponsor is Stix 2 Anything, who are providing the winner with an adhesives bundle.  

Having won one myself, I can sat their product is amazing!

I created the background for this card with some Iridescent Medium with yellow paint mixed in - and found I had the most gorgeous gold paste.  This was applied through an old (Layers of Color) stencil  directly onto the Kraft card base. 

I had cut the printed verse out with a stitched rectangle (M/B), mounted that onto a snippet of Kraft card  and distressed the edges before mounting it with foam tape.

These wee birds were stamped with Espresso ink onto cream cardstock and fussy cut out, and I popped them onto the card with some Stix 2 Anything clear foam tape

In this photo you can see the light showing through the mounting tape.

I also stamped some more of the wee birds with Versamark ink onto the background.

The bird stamps are also from Layers of Color, unfortunately the company is now defunct. 

The inside was finished with some gold washi tape.

A Lighthouse Spotlighted

I needed a masculine card, and had some new stamps, and this is the result.

This stamp is called Lighthouse by Nellie's Choice, one of a wonderful selection in a new stamping and papercraft shop, that has recently opened here in town.

 I love this stamp, and can see myself using it lots!

I stamped the image onto blue cardstock, and partially stamped it onto a snippet of white, gold embossed it and water coloured it, then decided which piece to use and die cut the circle out. 

When it came to mounting the circle, I added a layer of gold paper under it to give some extra definition

The sentiment, a magazine freebie, was embossed in gold also.  The whole panel was layered onto gold, and then onto a white card base, of which I ran the edges over a blue ink pad. 

I added a layer of white card to the inside, also edged with the blue ink, and some glitter tape as a final detail.

Teddy Bear for a Wee Boy

I  almost went totally digital with this card - almost - I did colour the cupcake!

The teddy bear image is a freebie from Sobriety Stamps.   Barb has some wonderful freebies on her site, and i encourage you to visit.

I die cut the image using a Sizzex stitched oval die, then brushed the edges lightly with some blue ink.

The cup cake image is from Pattie's Creations, and I painted it with mica paints, mounted it over some glitter card, and added the matching die cut numeral

As the patterned paper left a narrow border top and bottom, I added faux stitching to tie in with the oval die cut.

I added a strip of the paper to the inside to finish.

Patchwork and a Pincushion

I made this card recently for a keen patchworker.

I started with the idea for the main panel, which looks deceptively simple, but it took me a lot of doodling and measuring on scrap paper before it got the shapes to 'work'!

All the paper snippets came from the same pad, which has been on my shelf for some time 

(um er, I'm not sure how long, but... )

I paper pieced the pincushion and thimble, then overstamped it using embossing ink, then silver embossed it.  

The wee strawberry beside the pincushion is an emery bag, used to sharpen you pins and needles. 

The papers were carefully placed apart on the cream layer so I could faux stitch between them, using a fine-line pen.

I stamped the sentiment in espresso ink and trimmed it out to a banner shape, layering it on a snippet of  orange card, and also 'stitching' around the words.  The orange base card was 'stitched' with a silver pen.

I finished the inside by stamping the pincushion again in the espresso ink, off the edge of the page.

Simple Purple Ombre

Another simple ombre background - this time in purple...

I stamped the large Gina K Majestic Peonies stamp over it in black ink

Silver embossed a very old sentiment stamp by Rubbadubbadoo Stamps,

and added some pearls to finish.

We are in lockdown, so as I am not as busy as usual, I have time to blog more and craft more...

This card was made some months ago, for a young boy, and I found I had not blogged it.  

I am sure the sentiment and image stamps were magazine freebies..

The feature panel is the 'floating image' technique by Natasha Foote, only I did it my way 😀, and the circular background is the floating element with the image on top.

The image was stamped and coloured with my Polychromo pencils, and I added glossy accents to some elements for added interest

I stamped the banner and sentiment directly onto the patterned paper background

I repeated the bird image on the left side of the inside, leaving his party hat off.
