Welcome
I have been having fun with the shaving creme technique recently, and this is one result.
Before I coloured the background, I clear embossed the water colour paper, which formed a great resist, and added to the overall dimension in the card
Here is a close-up of the embossing - I coloured the shaving creme with food colourings in red, blue and yellow, swirled them a wee bit, and then dipped the paper into it. It is a really fun technique, and you never know what the results will be.
I finished the card with a stamped image of a simple flower (an old Hero Arts Stamp), which I coloured using markers, and as the red did not stamp very well, I added some extra colour by hand later.
The card was finished with a some rhinestones on the plain strip of card.

I agree with Dawn, it's always fun to see what pops up when you lift the paper! I'm glad you are having fun with this technique, my friend - your card is stunning!

That is a fun technique isn't it? I used to do it with the children in my nursery, only we used paint instead of food colouring. Sometimes we just left the residue to dry and it made lovely 3D sculptures.
You have made a very pretty card with yours, and the resist embossing was a good idea. Kate xx

Whoo Hoo! Love that fab background. I only tried this once in a class, using reinkers. Who knew you could use food coloring? Loved your idea of adding the embossing first to get those wonderful flourishes. Great card, Maxine. Very cheery & such fun. TFS & Hugs
Very interesting Technique Maxine. Excellent results though. Love the card and your creativeness.

This is a technique that I have not tried yet...Looks great on your card, and it sounds like fun...thanks for sharing.
How amazing that this piece of art came about because of some food coloring and shaving cream! You did a wonderful job here and I really like the bright swirls of color that you were able to produce. You're right: you never know quite how it will turn out! I also thought it was a brilliant touch to do the embossing as a resist technique. It adds yet another element of sophistication and interest. All in all, this card is stunning and is definitely made from scratch! Thanks so much for sharing it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
