Today's card is my DT card for the CCC Digi Creations Challenge #26
- Layer it Up
Our sponsor is Oak Pond Creations
I have used the image Flower Jug
The image prints out in a fine gray line, which enticed me to watercolour it, using Lyra watercolour crayons and a very fine brush. The Lady bug image on the jug was stamped, using one of the first stamps that I purchased...
There was a "dreaded blot" on the image panel after painting it, and thanks to Carpel Tunnel syndrome I could not repeat the painting, so added some fine splats all over the image to give it a 'painterly look' as I have heard it called.
My layers of ribbon were also placed strategically to cover another wee oops... this was one card that did not want to be made easily. I added a doily that I cut in vellum, then in half and offset the halves behind the die cut.
The sentiment was stamped repeatedly across the bottom, centering the first impression, then working out from there in both directions. All edges were sponged with Bundled Sage DI
Some flat back pearls in green scattered around as a finishing touch.

Beautiful card Max, love how the image is so soft.
Love your design, Maxine, and the incredible texture and dimension! This card certainly fits our theme. I'm so happy to see you playing along with us in our "Flower Image" challenge at Pattie's Creations this month. Good luck and I hope you'll come play again later this week in our June challenge.

The lady bug looks so cute stamped on that jug! Beautiful card and wonderful coloring.

It's a beautiful image, and so masterfully watercolored. Your little oops were design opportunities that turned out as lovely enhancements too. I'm liking your vellum doily treatment (must remember this). Adding the tiny lady bug was just the perfect finishing touch. Really pretty card...I'm glad you kept going with it! TFS & Hugs
Pretty card. Thanks for joining us at Brown Sugar this week for our "Ribbon and Flowers" challenge
This turned out quite lovely Maxine, you would never be able to tell that you had an oops moment! I love your 'painterly look', it looks like watercolouring, great effect! Found you through Aussie Annie, just hit the follow button, so I will see you again soon. :)
I thought the dots enhanced the vintage look, with the jug, paper doily and ribbon. Great water coloring. Thank you so much for sharing your very beautiful art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday on our 185th AGFF Challenge.
Blessings, Carole

Such pretty painting, Maxine! And splatters are all the rage and probably started as a way to cover up a boo boo! Love the doilies! Fantastic card!
Fabulous card Maxine. If I were you, I wouldn't tell about the Oopsies' No one would know. ;) Great job. I get to also give you a thumbs up from CK. Thanks for joining us at Creative Knockouts. Good Luck! Maggie, DT
