Welcome
I had really, really, really, been meaning to be back before this, but....
life intervened, as it does!
I first saw this technique over at Jennifer McGuire's blog, and taught it at class this month.
It is called Faux Detail Letter Press Technique.
I used the Tsukineko Kaleidacolor pad Blue Breeze, on watercolour paper.
I finished the card with some sequins and the sentiment panel.
The sentiment was embossed in white, the base of it was coloured as I had no washi tape that 'fitted'.
Some shiny thread behind the panel, and some sequins finished the card.

I CASEd the layout and sentiment presentation
Thank you for visiting my blog - may your day be blessed
Any comments you may leave are deeply appreciated.

Beautiful Maxine! I love the faux letterpress technique and you chose the perfect die for this, that butterfly is gorgeous! I love the monochromatic blue theme and the little touch of black adds just the right amount of contrast! hugs :)
She has some great techniques Maxine and this is gorgeous. xx
Letterpress, faux or not is very high end. Super use of sequins and shimmer thread. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday, on our 189th Challenge. We appreciate you very much.
Blessings, Carole
I have not heard of this technique before but I love the outcome. Gorgeous card and so creative to make up your own Washi tape image.
Maxine, what an interesting technique! You always have the neatest things to showcase on your blog! This is beautiful in hues of blue - and of course, your signature embossing! LOVELY! Blessings, dear friend ♥

Very pretty!!
Hi Maxine, I saw this J.McGuire video too, and you have really mastered this pretty technique just beautifully. Love the look with the blue design embedded down into the white ...a very elegant look with this splendid butterfly. The darker blue sequins were a perfect finishing touch to the look, and the swirl of thread behind the sentiment was just so pretty. TFS & happy wk ahead. Hugs
