A Framed Animal

Welcome
and thank you for visiting.

Another card for the wee swap group I am part of, and the challenge set was "animals, framed."

I knew immediately what I would do - but all did not go smoothly...

The stamps, a magazine freebie set, were trialed and then I stamped.  The giraffe was stamped in CP Over Coffee ink, on a scrap piece of card, and then fussy cut.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento Peanut Brittle  - it felt very apt, as I was planning on a month overseas next month - a week visiting friends, and then a three week tour - but the fireworks in the Middle East put paid to that!!

That aside, I very carefully cut the aperture, positioned the sentiment below the aperture, and stamped - only to find the sentiment was upside down...oh dear.

I flipped the panel around, and it could work, so I carried on - I now think it looks better than originally planned!

The image was 'coloured' using the Peanut Brittle ink on a water brush, and mounted coming through the aperture - the head was raised slightly on foam tape.  Pale blue card was added behind the giraffe,
and the panel mounted using foam tape on a yellow card, then onto a kraft base.

A few amber rhinestones completed the front panel

One Layer Grunge and Steampunk

Welcome

Oops, I did not realise I had done so little blogging until I came to upload this card... I have been busy, very busy in fact, making cards ahead as I had plans to travel for the month of April, but, those plans are looking very shaky now the Middle East has erupted. 😒

This card was started with a 'mop up' piece of card - I have no idea what the inks on it were, but I did add a spray of a copper mica colour

The first step was to add some stenciling - it was a circular stencil, which I used to my advantage to add interest.   I cannot recall which ink I used for that step.

The stamping of the images, all from an old Darkroom Door set, was done in C.P. Over Coffee ink

In this angled photo, some of the glimmer can be seen

The sentiment (from a Uniko set) was embossed with Rich Brown ep, (again on a piece of 'mop up' card) and the banner angle cut for interest

Washi tape finished both the inside of the card and the envelope.
