2019 in Review -A Top 12

Welcome

I am doing a Top 12 from last year, listing the cards by month - I will link to the original posts, so if you want more information, you can click on the link.

I hope you enjoyed this review - I certainly enjoyed looking through my work again, and some months I could have posted two cards!

May 2020 bring you many opportunities to be creative, and many joys as you create

A Golden 50

Welcome

I hope you all  had a wonderful Christmas, or should you celebrate another festival, that that too was a precious time of family and friends, and love and laughter.

I had a family member turn 50 recently, and he does not like 'fussy' cards, like most men, I gather :)

I started by stenciling the background using Delicata Golden Glitz ink.

I also ran the ink pad over the wee molded accent piece, and it just caught the tops of the impression.

The 50 was die cut from golden sparkle card using Kaiser Craft Number Dies

The gold embossed sentiment was a magazine freebie.  I hand cut the banner, and the underlying snippet of the last of the same paper I had used (a snippet of) for the side decoration

The photo above gives and idea of the subtle sparkle this card has.

The final detail (inside the card) was the banner made from the last snippet of the design paper .

Cross Stitched Christmas

Welcome

Just a quick post today, Christmas Eve, to wish you all a wonderful, peaceful and joy-filled Christmas

I made this card for a swap group I am part of, and the theme was to use stitching on a card.

I stitched the tree on some red even weave fabric using cream thread, making up the pattern as I went.

This was mounted on some textured cream card (the photo has whitened it) that I embossed stitching around the edge of.
The sentiment stamp is a magazine freebie, embossed in gold.
The feature panel was then mounted over plain red card.

Copper Sparkle Plus Texture

Welcome

It's good to be back, albeit I am a day late posting this.
I am still working on the borrowed computer, and this is also causing me some brain strain 😓

For this weeks Word Art Wednesday Challenge I chose to make a card with a masculine twist, so started with a Brusho's background I made a while ago when trying out Brusho SparkleITs.

The photo below shows the sparkle that the copper  SparkleIT gives the red toned background

I added some corrugated with some string across it as an embellishment to the base of the card

The scripture panel was mounted over a S/B Marvelous Square die cut (appears to be discontinued) cut from wallpaper with some shimmer and texture to it.

The background was made on a page from a mixed media journal, hence the notched and torn top edge of the background panel, which I decided to leave for extra interest.

Sparkly Poppy and a Magic Window

Welcome

This is another Magic Window card - this time made for the New Zealand swap group I am in.
My partner for the swap last month more often than not has flowers on her cards, so that was the theme I chose for her.

The centre panel is made with a piece of paper napkin glued onto a circle of card, and layered over a maroon lacy circle die cut.  I added some pencil colouring to the image to deepen the colours, and then some Brusho SprinkleIT powder in Iridescent.

I misted the powders, and unfortunately some clumped together, giving the appearance of white spots, but the the sparkle is so bright in the photo, it caused the camera to loose focus!

I used the last snippets of the design paper for the inside panels, and used white embossing on a maroon snippet for the sentiment

The final touch was to add some satin ribbon to the outside to form a closure.

I will be away from my computer for most of next week - thank you for your visits, and hopefully I will be able to get around to visit after next weekend

WAW - Christmas Anticipated

Welcome

I am slightly red faced here - December has started off with all sorts of things happening that were unplanned, including the fact I have used the wrong scripture for today's  Word Art Wednesday
DT card. My bad, I was rushing to get things done and did not double check the dates before printing the verses. Karen, bless her, has been most understanding and accepted it graciously.

I die cut the feature panel using a S/B Lacy rectangle die, and sponged the panel after embossing it and before removing it from the die.  I used Delicata Gold Glitz, and it really shimmers IRL

I added a triple layer of ribbon and cord, and the wee, embossed nativity...

then decided that I wanted more shimmer, so used a lemon coloured mica spray, which blobbed a bit.. not a good look.

It also looks green on the black dp

At least the inside came out nice and crisp and clean with just the narrow strip of gold washi tape.
