Watery Birthday

Welcome

Although this card took me way longer than I wanted it too, I love the outcome.

I started by sponging through the stencil in blue ink on the blue card base, moved the stencil marginally, then sponged it with iridescent medium.  I think my impression of water moving worked - the stencil I used is called Waving Branches, and should be used vertically, not horizontally!

I then cut a window using the  Peek a boo window die from MFT, from white cardstock, sized to cover the card front with a small border.  I stamped and silver embossed the fish on a snippet, and then painted it with Iridescent Blue Twinklng H2O paint, which you can just see on the tail flukes.  I created an acetate window, and glued the fish across the bottom of the aperture.

The sentiment was also stamped in blue using a vertical stamp.  All the edges were sponged with the same ink.  I adhered two layers of foam on the back, filled the shaker element with blue and white sequins, and adhered the blue base card over it.

The inside was finished with some blue and silver sparkle tape, and some silver spotted washi.

Well Maxine, the time and effort you put in on this card was totally worth it! I love this fun shaker card! The iridescent look of the water makes it look so real and I just love that fish the way you did him. A perfect place for a vertical sentiment too, I don't use mine that much and need to! Hugs, Brenda

You should be so proud of this card - it is simply beautiful. I love how you have placed the fish to frame the water - and the water is gorgeous. An absolutely stunning card. One of my favourites.

A Very nice card Maxine. Your moving water is wonderful. I like the window die'cut. It's not one I am familiar with at all. And what a handsome fish. H2Os are just perfect for anything like that. My dad would have liked that. He was a fisherman by hobby, not for work, and he always dreamed of the 'next big one'. Kate xx

Maxine, this is an awesome shaker card. You did a great job. I've been wanting to make one for a long time now but still couldn't find the time to do it...LOL Hopefully, soon! Anyway, I want to leave you with an inspiration from the Bible in Isaiah 55:6-7 which says, "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." Have a wonderful week.
