Daisy, Daisy....

And a very warm welcome to my newest follower Bonnie of Stamping with Klass.  I am honoured that she has followed me, as her work is amazing!! Please pop over and pay her a visit.

I made this card with the 'goodies' I won over at Pixies Snippets Playground -a set of stamps and dies from Newtons Nook, Dainty Dasies, and a Feeling Dotty stencil by Altenew

I stamped and die cut the daisy image - the stamps gave a clear impression first time, and the die cut like a hot knife through butter - and then painted them with some watercolours - from a sample sheet of Daniel Smith Watercolours, sent to me by the wonderful Libby Hickson of

I then cut two masks, one of the daisies, of which I used the positive, and one of an oval, which I used the negative of,  placed them on the card where I wanted them to go, then applied iridescent medium though the stencil - and when I was happy with the result (shhh, second time around) I left it to dry overnight!!

I mounted the daisies over the background on foam squares after trimming the panel a wee bit, and added a narrow border of lace down one side

The sentiment was also in the stamp set, and stamped then die cut with a S/B double ended tag die.

The inside was decorated with a narrow strip of gold Washi

Maxine, your card is so pretty - lovely flowers! I actually own that stamp set, too, and sadly, it has remained uninked. Maybe I need to change that. ;) You've inspired me!

What a really striking creation Maxine, the Daisies really pop against the darker background and nice with the little touches of yellow.

Wow Maxine, what a beautiful card! I adore how you've used your snippets prize to creat quite a dramatic card. Well done (and thanks for letting me know you'd popped it on your blog as right now I'm unable to spend much time blog hopping and would have missed it).
