Welcome
Thank you for visiting
I posted this card just over a month ago, and the recipient is still waiting to receive it, but she did say to put it on the display in our swap group, so she could 'see' it there....
The challenge was to make a card using a pattern I think was called a swing and flip technique...
This is my result.
I started with some white card to which I had adhered a dictionary page, then the top layer of a paper napkin, followed by a layer of thinned glue with glitter in it. It is a technique I learned by watching a video by Sasha Reade here
Rather than add to the bulk of the card, as it was already heavy with just the two layers, rather than have a layer under the patterned paper, I simply sponged the edges of the squares before adhering them to the base. I added the die cuts to add colour and (visual) movement to the card.
When the card is opened up, the centre panel pops out, and there is a flower on both sides - unfortunately the lighting was such that I could not get a good 'front on' photo of the card opened up.
This shows the glitter on the background as well as on the die cut
I did not have enough of the home made glitter paper to use on the back panels, so simply used some very old commercial paper to finish the card, inking the edges with the same green as the front panels
