Recycled Roses

Welcome

I made this card some time ago for a friend who is the queen of up-cycling commercial cards.

The image that I have used was one on a 'card' my grand daughter brought home for me from kindergarten, some four years ago - it was so pretty, and I am so sentimental, I could not just bin it, and then came the opportunity to use it for a very special friend.

I fussy cut the teapot image, and then mounted it over the blue doily Die cut - I cannot recall the name of it off hand, and it's so old it is possibly discontinued by now!

These were  then mounted over some wide broderie anglaise lace I had been given, which I secured with some washi tape.

The final detail was the Happy Birthday embossed with platinum ep., hand cut into a banner and sponged with Whisper Rich Plum ink

The inside was strengthened with a white card panel as the front was fairly heavy, and the edges of that were also sponged with the Rich Plum ink, and then some washi tape as a finishing detail.

This is such a beautiful collage card! All images are so feminine and soft and the glimmer is just the bit that was needed to let it pop a bit; so well done Maxime! Hugs, Gerrina

Oh yes Maxine so agree ... you can’t bin that gorgeous image and love how you completed it with that broderie anglaise lace is simply the prettiest complement with the gold spotty awash I, what really pretty washi, you don’t see that here. Or I haven’t I don’t go to shops much and have a list! 😆
Thanks for being a blessing, loved your comment on the wonderful words post and the verse you quote too, appreciate you so much sis... and may God bless you too.

What a great way to recycle a card Maxine, a precious card to boot! I hope you took a photo of it so you will always have it to remember. I love how you took a portion of it and made this beautiful card for a special friend. Love the color of your doily and the background paper you used. The lace just adds that extra special touch on this card. Beautiful! Hugs, Brenda

Very pretty card! I like to recyle some of my cards too. I'm very sentimental and some of the cards I just can't see myself getting rid of so I sometimes use them in my journal...so when I open and read my journal that card is a reminder of the special person who sent it to me...and sometimes a reminder to say an extra prayer for that someone.

OH Maxine, I'm sentimental like you! I keep EVERYTHING! Just last year, I had to 'bin' a few things and then took them back! But your card - gorgeous in every way. I love the little glittery touches! Fabulous! Hugs! xx
