A Change of Craft

Welcome

I slight change of craft today - I have returned to the sewing machine and created a frock for my grand daughter.

Although the pattern looks simple, it can be a bit tricky to sew - I made it twice for my daughter years ago, and I had forgotten just how tricky!!

The front and back look very much alike, so I added some trim to the front

Here is a close-up of it - it is a very simple needle lace pattern

This is a photo of Button modelling it - she had just returned from pre-school, and did not want to take off her tights!

Needless to say little brother wanted to get in on the action too!

Loving my Grandma cuddles - be back next week!

Thanks for visiting - any comments you may leave are deeply appreciated.
May your day be blessed.

You are very clever Maxine - looks great and I love it with the tights too - so cute! The trim is beautiful and I am thinking handmade! {{{hugs}}}

What a pretty little print fabric you have used. Your dress looks lovely on and off. It's good to have a change now and then, though I must say it takes a lot to motivate me to dig out my machine. I'd rather do knitting or crochet. Kate x

OH Maxine! I just squeeled with delight at the site of your precious gbabies! THey are gorgeous! As is your frock, though I would say it's quite the sewn masterpiece! Aren't you glad you returned to the machine, these gifts - beautitful tokens - are the very very best gifts :) My mom sewed all of mine when I was little, including my dolly clothes, and then again for my daughters when they were little. Sadly, I can't sew to save my life!

Blessings to you, my friend. Thinking of you and dh and know you are both in my prayers - hope you get in your garden time :)

Maxine,
You are really something. I had a flash of some pictures of your beautiful gardens, your paper crafting is wonderful and now you pull a frock out of the hat. I like the material texture and the color is cool looking and refreshing. That little bit of blue trim you called simple seems quite intricate. You are such a blessing to so many people. Blessings, Carole
