King of his Patch

Welcome.
I have been waiting to blog this for sometime, but could not until it was given to the recipient.

The image is one from the Graphics Fairy, who is most generous with the free  digital art she shares.

I printed the image off in the size I wanted, and then trimmed it and coloured it, and the background, with chalks.  I then went over the chalk on the rooster with some perfect pearls to add shimmer, blue on the dark feathers and yellow in the breast, although it added a green tinge too.

The sentiments are computer generated - I was also tempted to add, may your day give you something to crow about... but I restrained myself.

I finished the inside with a trimming from patterned paper that I used on the outside.

The main panel was mounted over some patterned paper and I added a few gorgeous dark red pearls, keeping in mind that the recipient prefers less fussy cards.

Thank you for visiting - any comments that you may leave are deeply appreciated
May your day be blessed.

Magnificent chalk coloring. I've never been able to master that & I love this rooster! (I haven't visited Graphics Fairy for a while, but think I got that pretty vellum digi from there once when I found the site!) You did an outstanding job with this digi and that brilliant coloring! TFS & hope DH is progressing very well. Hugs & have a great day.

OH MY!! Very impressive. Love the colors. Nice touch adding the perfect pearls for the shimmer. The color does change on feathers depending on how the light reflects from them. Excellent. - Jim
