Orange Poppies

Welcome

I have been MIA over the past few days, as DH has not been well and there have been various medical appointments and a few days in hospital for him, so time has been at a premium.

I would also like to extend a welcome to Lozzy of Nins Handmade Cards, my newest follower. Do pop over and see her wonderful work.

I love this Prim Poppy, Memory Box die, and decided to go for a dramatic look with this card, using a black background.

I cut the black layer, and then also cut the die out of white and coloured it with markers and inserted it on the black, after spraying the black with a lemon glimmer mist, which turns green on dark colours....

The sentiment was stamped in Delicata Gold, and I used a fine brush pick up some ink to complete the letters across the stems. (Not that is shows in the photo).  The final detail was two layers of washi tape and some green rhinestones.

I am linking this to:
(Coloured Background)
(I have taken the theme - stamps and splatters)

Thank you for visiting my blog - May your day be blessed

Maxine, sorry to hear DH has been poorly, but certainly hope he is much, much better now. Family is priority above all else. Love what you've done with this particular die. It's so dramatic with the orange & black, and I love the overspray effect. (thought you'd used frontage, which I can never seem to manage well). Didn't know the spray would change so radically over dark...also like the Delicata gold sentiment the way you've done it. Just a beautiful card. Prayers for healing, Hugs & TFS

That background is amazing, Maxine. It's so sparkly and pretty. I am just guessing that it's even prettier in real life when the light catches all that glimmery goodness. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I just LOVE visiting your blog.

Fantastic vibrant die-cut bloom against your spectacular black and splattered BG. Sadly at Less is More we only accept 5 challenge combos including our own therefore this card wouldn't qualify on this occasion at LIM but thanks for playing along at ATCAS this week as it's a perfect take on the challenge there. Thanks so much. Sarah (ATCAS and LIM DT)
