Lilies with Gold Accents

Welcome,wowed
and a special welcome to my newest follower, Patti, who makes beautiful cards.  If you want to be, 'wowed' pop over to her blog, Stationery Styles and gasp at her work!

I am a ferw hours late with this, thanks to a migraine that assaulted me yesterday...

The wonderful scripture that the Word Art Wednesday DT were given to work with this week was Proverbs 11:25.  I chose to print in a large format as the print is fine

When I then looked at the size, I decided to use an oval die cut , and tilted it to one side, which means that it over hangs the card edge by a wee bit, but it certainly adds interest to the card

Although the patterned paper is quite a busy pattern, the colour palette was limited, so I decided to go with a dark base card, and accent the gild highlights in it

The die cut was sponged with Delicata Gold ink  before removing the die

Because the paper was so busy, I kept the embellishments simple by using just the lilies.  i did add the detail of the scalloped border, and below that a strip of gold that matched the foil in the paper, although that does not show here with the reflections.

Oh Maxine, migraines are crippling, aren't they! Glad it finally eased off and you could get to more exciting activities!
I love what you chose to do with the scripture - the overhanging oval gives your design character. You flowers are lovely and I think you made the perfect decision to go with the darker base card.
Thanks so much for sharing this with us at The Paper Shelter!

That you tilted the oval makes it more special and looks good even though with a busy background the lilies pop just enough! Hugs, Gerrina

beautiful Maxine. Love the way you've tilted the oval. Hope the migraine is better. I get bad headaches (not migraines) so can feel your pain.

Commiserations re migraine they’re not fun at all, dear Maxine, p and are very debilitating. So glad it’s okay and pray it stays that way a long, long time.
Lovely verse, and clever idea it offset the oval like that lovely DP too.
Great flowers not seen them around!
I’m on improve, had two days and night with toothache, had another temporary filling today and some of gum cut away on a broken molar tooth, it’s non repairable and needs crown and bridge but can’t get done till better after op next week. Cortisone has kept me alive for fifty years but multiple side affects and two of them are dental and skin cancer problems ...related to that treatments side affects. Compromised immune system.. however LORD is gracious indeed, am very grateful for tooth, it’s but sore but will be ok, I pray so anyways... as naturally affects sleeps ..
Thanks so much for your prayers. They’re really appreciated. Hope and pray you continue to get better too. Popped over to Pattis blog too, so lovely.
Prayer hugs,

Such a beautiful card, and what a lovely quote. I like the idea of the slight slant to the oval - the perfect shape to go with the shell like pattern of the paper.
Lovely!
Blessings, Neet xx
Hope the migraine has gone x
