Bleached Flowers

Welcome,
Thank you for calling in.

I made this card for swap in a small online group of stampers that I belong to, and the challenge last month was to use bleach on our cards.
I decided to make a Brusho background on watercolour paper, after reading this tutorial,

The image was from the Happy Little Stampers set called Especially For You [the store appears to have now closed], and I embossed it using a Brutus Monro e.p. called Sandstone [which appears to be discontinued]
I masked the flowers as I stamped them, and after embossing them, I coloured the stems with a sharp Prismacolor pencil

I then applied household bleach to the flower petals, waited as the 'magic' happened, then repeated the bleach treatment, not only then, but also again next morning.

I layered the image panel, offset, over some green card.  Stamped and white embossed the sentiment on a snippet of the same green, and cut it into a banner at one end.  Both layers were then mounted on an orange base.   A few white sequins were randomly added, and wee bow finished the card.

I love your card Maxine. Great idea to triple bleach the image. I wish I had thought of doing that as mine might have turned out better than it did.

Very pretty Maxine. The bleach has worked well on the brusho background, even if it did take a few layers to work the magic. Well done. Kate x

Hi Maxine,
Love your bright background with brushos. I checked out the Splitcoast tutorial, when it was written in 2015, I hadn’t even heard of brushos let alone owned some! Love those tutorials Dina does, she’s a no-nonsense crafter. Right up my alley.

Great take on those stamps Maxine, really love the way you’ve used them.
Thanks too for your encouragement on Wonderful Words blog... and glad today’s post blessed you. It was certainly encouraging to me. I know things aren’t easy, am praying. God gets it. Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
