Ric Rac and Bees

Welcome

It's hard to believe we are just on half way through the year - I'm not quite certain how that happened!
For this fortnight's Word Art Wednesday Challenge we have as our sponsors Lawn Fawn, who are providing a generous $25 voucher for the winner.

The paper and the stamps I have used on this card came as magazine freebies - I only have Christmas images by Lawn Fawn.

I layered the scripture panel onto the paper, and then added the ric rac to two sides to frame it.

I stamped the bee from the set, cut him with the matching die, coloured him with Prismacolor pencils, then after adhering him to the  card, added clear Kindy Glitz and Glossy Accents.

I stamped the flowers in London Fog ink, and then coloured in the 'no line' technique, and popped it up on foam squares for some dimension.

On the inside I added a strip of the paper to the left of the liner, and stamped this corner in the same grey ink.
Unfortunately the shiny reflection on the paper threw the camera focus off - or maybe it was operator error???

OH Maxine, a joyful card! My mom sewed all our clothes growing up and ALWAYS included ric-rac! It was very 70's - and it still brings me smiles today. Love your bold bee and the detail! Such a wonderful and warm card - hugs!

So cute! I really like you used the ric-rac. I still have some of that left from my sewing days...never quite sure what to do with it. You may have inspired me!

This is a beautiful card Maxine! I love the bee paper, the bee and the flower. You did a great job with no line coloring, something I'm scared to try. lol I need to though. I love, love, love the ric rac on the card, not sure what it is about ric rac, but I've always loved it. It really frames out your scripture perfectly! Hugs, Brenda

I like the use of the ric-rac braid - it makes me think of the bees buzzing around that never really seem to fly in straight lines! The paper is perfect for your theme.

I adore bees. The other day I was watching two fat bumblebees playing around on the flowers, having a good old time they were as they collected the nectar.
I love the way you have used the scripture and highlighted it with the honeycomb and the ric rac, it works so well - and then the repeat stamping inside just makes it rather special.
Blessings, Neet xx
