A Stitch In Time

                           Welcome

Thought I would pop in and show off a stitching project I finished this year...  I have no idea when I started it,  I have to confess

The stitching  technique is Ukrainian White work, finished with a typical withdrawn thread, hemstitched edging, with needle woven elements.

My apologies for the creases,  but it's been folded ready for packing,  but before I did that,  I wanted to share it.

I hope you have enjoyed a glimpse of one of the other crafts I do.

Clever you Maxine. It is a beautiful piece of work. My sister used to do this white work but I never quite had the patience for it. When is your move going to happen? I hope the packing is progressing well. Kate xx

I agree that this is beautiful detailed work and would add charm where ever it was laid . I thought the technique is similar to Tatting or thread work .I remember seeing the like when I was younger .

This is so delicate and so pretty, Maxine and what oodles of patience you must have to spend so much time doing it. I LOVE it. The threading technique is so pretty. The flower here motif reminds of an Indian embroidery motif.
Hope the move went well. I have not been blogging that often.

Happy New Year to you and yours,

Monica xxx
