Washi Galore

Welcome,

Also a warm welcome to my newest follower, Faith A of Daffodil Cards, who makes the most beautiful cards - do pop over and take a peep.

On Saturday I was one of seven (self appointed) bridesmaids at a wedding of  friends over the weekend, which was a lot of fun.  We also helped do the final preparation of the food on Friday and Saturday morning, and the serving, as they were catering it themselves.

I had hoped to be here sooner, but have also been hit with a cluster of migraines, which have left me somewhat lethargic and lacklustre.  (Thankfully not over the weekend)  Subsequently I have not been  blog visiting - I hope to get back to it tomorrow.

Now to the card - this I taught last year as a way to use Washi tape

I layered bronze dotted, silver chevron, black and white music and red and white washi tape adhered diagonally over a piece of (thin) white card, leaving a narrow strip empty

I stamped the sentiment in red across the blank space, centring the stamps, then stamping on either side.  The stamps were freebies from a magazine.
The decorated panel was then mounted over another white layer, then the red base, and black rhinestones added

I used the music patterned washi for the inside.

I am sure you had a lot of fun in the wedding. How lovely!
And I LOVE this card. Great idea to use the washi tapes and add stamped sentiment and gems. Very clever.
I send you a big hug, my friend.

Hi, Maxine! Hopefully your headache is gone by now - those cluster headaches are mean, the way you never know if the cycle is going to "repeat itself" and how many times. Glad you could enjoy yourself at the wedding. Your diagonally placed lines of washi tape look fantastic! Great idea! I need to CASE that design idea! Thanks for the inspiration and for submitting your creation at Jan’s Digi Stamp Challenges . I hope to see more of your designs soon.

I absolutely love Washington tape

Autocorrect changed "washi" to "Washington". Sorry about that.

such a great card design that can be used for any gender as well as a music lover. I liked the striped design which can be changed up with different colours. Thank you for taking part in the polkadoodles digi choosday challenge. Happy Crafting! Mel x

What a great way to use washi tape. Love the result. I have a whole tin full of washi tape, so I should give it a go. so sorry to hear that you suffer from migraines. I know how horrid they are, but it is very lucky that you were able to enjoy the wedding xx

The wedding sounds great fun, but not so the migraines. Hope they have gone by now.
Love this idea with the washi. I have so much of it and this is a great way to use some of it up. Off for a play.
Blessings, Neet xx

Very pretty! Great composition of the different washi tapes. I love the consecutive repetition of the washi tapes. Gorgeous idea to stamp the sentiment in between like using another washi tape. And - for me - the black circles act like an eye-catcher.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful card with the Everybody Art Challenge. Hug Uschi

Migraines are so debilitating, so I hope you are feeling much better now Maxine. What a blessing you managed to get through the weekend okay (and what a lucky couple to have such wonderful friends). Take care, Mxx

This is awesome, Maxine. I love using washi and your card is SO fun and creative. Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Word Art Wednesday.

I was on a washi tape design team, and they just "POOF" vanished. Well, I mean...they're still around but they cut off all communication and just ghosted us all. it was sad because I really enjoy washi tape. I have quite a collection of it and often forget to use it so this card really inspired me.

Thanks SO much for sharing with us at Word Art Wednesday. Your art is always a blessing to me and you inspire me so much more than you know. Hugs to you, my sister.

Oh this is fabulous Maxine! I did something similar at Christmas and yes, it really does feel good to use up a bit of the Washi Tape stash in this way. Love your design hun. Sweet to hear you had such a lovely weekend celebrating friends, but not great you've been feeling poorly, hope those migraines shift for you, I get flawed by them occasionally, so I empathise! Big hugs, Wends xoxo

Hi Maxine, a fabulous way to use up washi tape, I was put off washi tape after making easter gift boxes which had a strip across the width of the box that proceeded to peel off in the two days until actually given, since then they have just sat in my box. I will have to try this out, thank you for the inspiration and I hope your migraine has passed. Have a wonderful week... Megan

The wedding sounds like lots of fun, how sweet of all 7 of you ladies for helping the bride and groom out with being bridesmaids and then serving the food! But I am so sorry about the migraines, they are very depilating and just not fun at all. I hope you can stay free from them now! This is a great way to use washi tape! I love it! I thought the sentiment was washi too, but as I read I saw that it is not. Fun! I will have to try this idea as I have washi just sitting here that I haven't used. Love the added rhinestones too. Hugs, Brenda
