Welcome
How can it be just over half a century since my daughter was born??
I helped celebrate her birthday with joy, and a slight sense of disbelief.
and a golden card...
The colour is richer than the photos show... the technique I used is one I saw on Natasha Footes channel here
I created the background using a stencil made by cutting a piece of manila folder with a 'Flat oval die' by Scrapbook.com, and sponged it using Delicata Golden Glitz ink which has a lovely shimmer to it.
The embossed sprig was a new one from a combined stencil and stamps pack by Tim Holtz
The digits were cut using an old numerical die set, and I used a snippet of low sheen gold paper
The sentiment was stamped using a freebie magazine set of sentiment by Rare Earth, and embossed in WOW metallic Gold ep. You can see the shimmer of the ink in the above photo.
The 'splatter' was made using the 'controlled splatter' technique demonstrated in the video above
I used gold dotted washi tape on both the inside of the card and the envelope.

Oh Maxine, this is delightful. How strange, my son celebrates a 'zero' birthday this year but at the end, December, and with a higher number than your daughter. Afraid he will be getting a commercial card as he and his wife do not like my cards as what style I do. And I have changed styles so much over the years.
Anyway, back to your card, it is so pretty and I love how you have used gold as in the wedding anniversary for 50 years, throughout. A very pretty flower sprig and I do like the lettering with two different scripts for 'Happy Birthday'. The washi just finishes things off and has a beautiful sheen to it. Bet she loves it.
Blessings, Neet xx
Such a lovely card all in gold and perfect for a special day. I know exactly how you feel. My eldest daughter is going to be 46 in a couple of weeks. So weird xx
A great result, congratulations to your daughter
A beautiful 😍 card Maxine, well done, great take on Natasha's technique. Praying for you each night
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
It's scary how quick time goes and our children reach milestone Birthdays. I am sure your Daughter loved her very special card.

What a gorgeous card Maxine - the gold is so beautiful & regal. I think those decade birthdays are very special & should be celebrated with Gold. xx
Happy Half-a-Hundred Birthday to your daughter, Maxine! I'm close behind and am already in disbelief that my son is SO old when I'm still a mere child, lol! Your golden delight of a design is so appropriate for this wonderful milestone and I love every detail! Hugs, Darnell
Maxine, I subscribe to your posts and saw this one in my email. I just love it! The gold that you've done in so many ways is really nice. I especially love that you cut your own stencil. That turned out beautifully. I have been meaning to do that, as I have so many dies that would work with that technique. And since I'm guest designing over at Word Art Wednesday this month I wanted to say thank you for playing along with them too!
Gorgeous Card. This is a very special card. Happy Birthday to your daughter.
Hugs and Blessings
So beautiful. Time flies.

Hello, sweet Maxine. What a lovely Wedding Anniversary card. 50 years is quite an accomplishment. This will be cherished, I'm sure. The gold accents are stunning, my friend. Hubby and I will celebrate 40 this August, but 50 will be here sooner than we realize. It's all about commitment.....for better or for worse and ALL the rest. Your beautiful cards are always such a blessing to me. Hope you're having a blessed day, my friend!
Hope you’re doing well.
What a beautiful card!! Happy Birthday to your daughter!!
