Gone Fishin' - again...

Welcome

Once again I have been much slower than I intended in blogging again
I have been trying to catch up on commenting, but the more I tried, it seemed the behinder I got, so I am trying to make a clean start....again :)

I made this card for one of the fishermen in the extended family - fishing is a major hobby of his, especially in the summer.
I used a set of stamps sent to me by the beautiful Karen Letchworth -  a Whimsy stamp set, Born to Fish

The background was made with a Uniko stencil, Wonky Stripes  and two shades of blue ink, then sprayed some blue Mica spray across the bottom of the card.

Initially I silver embossed the fish images, but they were 'lost' on the background, so I stamped them in Memento Paris Twilight ink on white card, fussy cut them and adhered them over the embossed images.
The sentiment is also from a Uniko stamp set

I repeat stamped the the fish 'off the edge' on the inside panel

As well as on the envelope, as seen in the top photo.

Think using tone on tone blues works very well for a fishing themes card Maxine, sounds like it's perfect for the recipient.

My Dad used to fish in the pond on the farm, used to take me with him when I was young but afraid it never appealed to me, to slow and quiet!

Hey I love that stencil you used in the background and the two colours of blue. They work so well together with that stencil. The fish are just great, two fabulous images used so well in this card. Pity it didn't work with the silver but lovely fussy cut images.
Ankle is now awaiting a call from a microbiologist. Well, I am waiting for the call.
Blessings, Neet 2 xx

I must get back to blogging too Maxine, sooo behind. Not blogged since April. Great card. Well done on inking it up. I'm doing a shaker card for 6yr old in the middle of night cos I can't sleep. Mailed yesterday a card to Florida birthday. It's Lavinia stamps. Im really into them since discovering them 8mths or more ago.
Praying for you.

Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. That's so sweet of Karen to send you a this stamp. I'm sure she'll be so happy to see it used here! :)

Another wonderful card Maxine. And perfect for that male fisherman to receive. You always add so much detail to your cards & I love the way you echo the envelope to match. Yes blogging takes time nowadays, I totally agree. xx
