Welcome
Oops, I nearly didn't do a blog post his month -
hopefully I will get this finished before the end of the year.
These cards were made as a result of a challenge in our NZ swap group. I used the spotlight option.
This was my card for the swap - I used an Indigo Blu stamp Peony Posy, stamping it in Lawn Fawn River Stone ink. I coloured one copy using sponge daubers, which challenged my propensity of colouring within the lines..
I die cut two circles for my spotlight, and for this card I edged the circles with Forget Me Not ink, then adhered them using 1mm foam tape. The main panel was edged in the same blue ink, and mounted over a pale blue base
For the two-fer, I edged the spotlight elements with pink ink, and also the feature panel.
I used 2mm foam tape to mount the spotlight elements, and stamped a sentiment in the bottom left of the panel (and promptly forgot to photograph it.)
Both cards have been delivered and appreciated
I take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful 2026,
and hopefully you may see a bit more of my craft activities here

Two stunners Maxine... and I'm proud to be owner of one of them! Thanks again for the gorgeous card
They are beautiful Maxine. They remind me of watercolour paintings. Just so lovely. Here's to a creative New Year Maxine. xx
Maxine, these are really cool cards! I really like those cut out circles. It makes such a good focal point and adds so much interest. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Word art Wednesday. And from all of us, we wish you a very happy and safe new year!

Maxine, I love how you used the spotlight technique on this beauty!
These are beautiful Maxine❤️ I noticed the texture on the cardstock. Would you share what you use? Hugs to you!
May the New Year be good to you.
These cards are amazing. The spotlights really look real. the coloring was perfect to make them so.
Hope your holidays were exceptional. Hugs and Blessings.
I love this! The spotlight effect is so fun!
I love the spotlight technique you used here! The Indigo Blu peony stamp is gorgeous, and using sponge daubers gives it such a lovely, soft texture that really makes the colors pop. It’s great that you were able to get two distinct looks just by changing up the ink colors and foam tape thickness it really shows how versatile one stamp can be.
I just shared a new post you are invited to read at www.melodyjacob.com
Hope you’re doing well.
HI Maxine, Happy New Year, two beautiful cards, I love the blue one, spotlight technique is something I haven't tried before. Must add to my list of things to try out. After just short of 12 weeks in hospital I got home just in time for Christmas... still taking things easy while my foot recovers from surgery, full recovery is likely to take 12-18 months. Have a wonderful week... Megan
How soft and lovely! The spotlight technique is such an exquisite look and this will be a hit with your swa;ppers! xxoo
