Smile!!

Welcome

This card was made for our local swap challenge - to make our own coloured paper background or focal point...

I embossed the background panel with a Memory Keepers geometric folder, then swiped  an inkpad over the 'high points', which made the design look more like flowers!!

The feature panel was a piece of 'mop up' card, and I have no idea of the medium I mopped up, apart from the fact it had some mica in it!

The sentiment I die cut and mounted over a layer of foam.

The flower I diecut and painted with mica paints, then mounted over three layers of card.  It looked a bit lost on the background, so I used a marker to colour the edges a wee bit darker than the tops, and it worked beautifully

What I also did on the main panel was add three yellow enamel dots, but these are only shown in the main photo, as I added them after I had done most of the shots...

The inside was finished with trimmings from the feature panel, the envelope I used washi tape on.

I am linking this to;
The recipient said this card really cheered her up

What a happy card, Maxine! I can see why it brought cheer to the recipient! I just love how the swiping really changed the e/f texture from a graphic look to a floral look! Hugs, Darnell

Maxine, you did a lovely job with this card! The very first thing that I noticed was the background and how dimensional it looks. And yes, that flower really pops so well. Great job all around! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We have a new challenge starting today and would love to have you join us again!

The card came out beautiful! I really want to try making a card just for the fun of it! I have some craft items so once I'm over the flu I will try making one.
