Baby Wipes - My Style

Welcome

This card was made for our wee NZ swap group, and the challenge set was to use baby wipes - several links were given to tutorials, but yours truly decided to do things her way...

I made the background by squishing up a baby wipe and dabbing a re-inker onto it.  Once I had finished with one colour, I reorganised the baby wipe and changed the colour
Colours used were all Catherine Pooler - Aquatini, Something Borrowed and Twilight.

Not wanting to coverup too much of the panel, I went with the very open die cut by John Next Door, and an Alpha from Sizzex, all cut from blue glitter card.  The letters were layered up, and the edges 'coloured' with a dark blue marker.

Keeping it simple, I layered up the main panel over some silver ribbon, and an old Cuttlebug diecut, halved diagonally for the corners, and some silver bling for the flower centres.

The base card is a very dark blue

I finished the inside and the envelope with offcuts from the feature panel.

If you are wondering about only one photo - I forgot to take any before I sent it, so the recipient graciously took one for me :)

Gosh that looks so effective Maxine. I would've been having a total blank if they'd said I had to use a baby wipe for a card!!! I find them very good for when I am decoupaging, just as wipes ... but could not think to use it like you have. Amazing! xx

I've never heard of using baby wipes to create art. You did a great job on the card.

What a lovely card. I love the blue theme, and those corner treatments bring it to a whole other level. You have a fantastic eye for color and design, thanks so much for playing along with us over at A Cut Above. I hope we see you back again soon!

There is something so soothing and relaxing and homogeneous about this creation. And I promise I will not use another 'and' and that is just what I did. I used it twice again after saying I wouldn't. Lol. How are you, dear Maxine? I miss you and am off to see your other creations...

Maxine, this is absolutely gorgeous! I have done the baby wipe technique only once, and it is something that I should do more often because it looks so beautiful. I love how your background has such a small design. It takes a lot of talent to do that! I love the blue that you’ve chosen and the rhinestones on the flowers really make it extra special. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We have a new challenge starting tomorrow and would love to have you join us again!
