Little Critter

Welcome back - this post is my second for this week releases from McMahon Five Design.com.

This image is one in a series called Funny Little Things by Studio 313 - the image is named Birthday Happiness

There is a lot of sparkle on this card that the camera did not pick up.

The image was printed out on Cryogen curious metallic paper which has a subtle sheen that shows through any medium, and painted with twinkling H2Os - don't you love his crooked wee smile?

Here is a close-up of the balloon, and I highlighted it with some crystal stickles, which were also used on the balloons on the designer paper.

The final touch, which proved to be the most difficult, was to layer the image over these sheets of shiny 'holes'.  They show purple IRL, but the camera picked up a more aqua tone :-(.

Thanks for calling, and please feel free to be inspired by the rest of the Design Team at McMahon Five Design.com - the links to their blogs are all in the sidebar.

Vintage Flutterbys

Welcome again.

This is my second post for the day, please scroll down for the other one.

Sue over at McMahon Digital Vintage has just released this beautiful butterfly set.

The set is entitled Go Confidently, as there is a sentiment that goes with it.

I used Cryogen paper to print the butterflies on, trimmed the image slightly on the right side, coloured the butterflies and background with chalks, and added some Crystal Stickles and Zva Crystals (trimmed)

The sentiment was not available when I made my card, so I added this stamped one from the D'Amour Allure Wishes of Love Acrylic Set.

The design paper is from the Lilybee pad Head over Heels and picks up a lot of the other colours in the card.

There are a lot of new designs this week, and a new designer ,over at McMahon Five Design - do pop over to the blog to catch up with all the news.

Christmas is coming!!

Welcome - thanks for visiting my blog again.

This week at McMahon Five Design.com Christmas designs are the theme of the releases - I decided to show case the Purrfect Stocking image.

As a cat lover this image had instant appeal - I decided not to colour the kitten, rather to showcase him by surrounding him with colour.

I used Lyra watercolour crayons to paint the image, added some Crystal Stickles for glitter, over painted the holly leaves with twinkling H20's, and used a metallic gold pen for the bells.

This photo shows the sparkle a little better.

I mounted the coloured image onto some red card stock, and doodled some faux stitching around the edge of the white with a red pen.

The finishing detail was this variegated 'eyelashes' yarn wound around the top of the image panel and tied in a bow.

The other design team diva's have made some amazing samples, so please visit them - the links are on the sidebar.

Cupcake birthday

Welcome, thank you for calling in.

Today I am sharing a 'flashback' image from McMahon Five Designs called

I started by printing the image and sentiment on a piece of paper from a Prima 6x6 stack called Romantique.

I  ran Crystal Stickles over the image details.

Made a row of flowers from some red paper I had on hand, and sprayed them with silver spray paint, which decided to flake off as I 'scrunched' them.

It still looked as though it needed something more, so I added these 'cocktail stars' - one of the first things I bought when I started card making some 10 years ago - so glad paper craft supplies don't 'go off'!!
I used them randomly around the cupcake and in a row under the sentiment to give it some focus.

Mounted the whole onto a red card base and I was done.

Give Thanks

Welcome once again - it is lovely to see you here.

I have only one card today from this weeks release from McMahon Five Design.com.

I love this scripture  "Give Thanks" and was thrilled to see it in this weeks release.  I printed off onto a strong yellow paper, and mounted that onto the orange card that I used for card base.

The main design paper is from a Doodlebug design pack, and I embossed it with the Divine Swirls folder, and ran and Whispers Mossy Stone ink pad over it.

I laid two lengths of lace back to back down the length of the card, and topped it with some ribbon.

Adhered the wee Prima Fairytale Roses to which I had added some Crystal Stickles  and the card was finished.
