Welcome.
This second card that I taught last week is not my usual style, but it is good to extend myself, and those I am teaching. The style? Shabby Chic.
I started the class by teaching them to tear paper so you have a ragged edge to sponge, and then layering onto the card base. The layer on the outer edge is actually some wrapping paper that I bought some 10 years or more ago!
The flourishes were cut in a light brown card and sponged, before being layered under the rose.
The rose is made out of dictionary paper, the edges stained and folded and crushed gently to get the turn back... at class there were many laughs as some were a tad energetic with their 'crushing'! One even turned into a 'bud'!
These little flowers were a result of one of the class members punching some scrap paper and squishing it slightly. Again I stained mine and added a pearl when I mounted them.
The lace is some I bought off a local auction site - I added some pearls for decoration.
I added the embossed sentiment after class, when I had decided what I wanted to use the card for.
