Sympathy with a Rose

DH is home, but there are massive dietary changes now that we are both trying to get our heads around.  Thank you all for your support and best wishes and prayers - for those wishing a speedy recovery - I'm sorry to say there will be no permanent recovery, and all treatments are palliative only.

This card was inspired by need, and the sketch over at Simply Less is More this week.

I started with the rose, (a stamp which came with a magazine and I have used repeatedly - I love it!) stamped and silver embossed. I then watercoloured it using the wet on wet technique. When that was dry I layered WoS over it for some sparkle, and that moved the colour a wee bit more. You can just see the sparkle in this photo.

I mounted it over a small silver circle using fun foam, and then over the larger stitched blue circle.

This was then placed over an organza ribbon layered with a fine silver cord, and then the sentiment was embossed in silver.  The top layer was lightly embossed with the Stitched oblongs die and mounted over the base with another layer of fun foam.
The card is a recycled card from a local printer and is a lovely soft, flecked gray.

Hi dear Maxine,

I am sorry that I have not been visiting as often as It must have been quite a time for you with hubby in hospital but I know how strong your belief is and how positive you are. I hope the dietary changes are easy to adapt to.

Your card is stunning. I love the rose and wink of stella always does the wonder that it is supposed to. I just use it on any and everything and it makes me so happy to see the shimmer.

I like the way you have used a thin silver cord on the pink organza ribbon. Looks so nice with the silver rose. Very pretty card, Maxine.

Take care and sending your energy of faith, trust and ease,

Hello, my sweet and creative friend Maxine!!! Look at that gorgeous embossing. You never cease to amaze me with all your stamping techniques. I actually embossed a sentiment for a card I'm posting tomorrow. I had a couple of "glops" but I covered them with sequins....LOL I don't know how you always do it so flawlessly. I never get it to not have "glops" just happens no matter how careful I am. Thanks SO MUCH for sharing in our challenge. I'm always delighted to have you play along, and I hope you're having a wonderful week. I said a prayer for you today. May God continue to bless and keep you.

Hello Maxine, It was with a heavy heart that I read your words at the beginning of this post. I may not know you personally but it still touched me deeply to hear that while you are being so kind and generous with your time, by reading and commenting on the blog work of other crafters you are clearly not in a very happy place with your ailing DH. My thoughts and prayers for sunny days to come. Anne xx

This is simply cute, Maxine! Thank you for joining our Challenge a few weeks ago at Word Art Wednesday. We have a week left on our current Challenge and I hope you join us again. Leaving you with the inspiration of God's Word in Psalm 84:11 and it says, "For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly." Have a blessed week.
