A Butterfly with Five P's

                   Welcome

For some time I have intended to play over at MrsA's Butterfly Challenge, and this week I have made my card and have it photographed and ready to go!!

I was inspired by a set of stamps that came with a magazine some time ago, that I have finally inked up, with my markers, and used.

I painted the images using the same markers, by wiping some ink onto an acrylic block and picking it up with a wet paintbrush, giving a no-line look.  I loved the result with this pink lily.

The humming bird was painted with blue and green and I then added some purple - the two tail feathers I mixed the blue and green to give some variation of colour

I added this part of the sentiment to the bottom right, and highlighted it with pearls

And added the peach coloured die cut butterfly with a matching pearl over some patterned paper that was a snippet I from a piece of marbled paper, and outlined the edge of the card with a fine purple doodle.

This is the inside, finished with the birthday greeting and another snippet of the marbled paper

The challenge was to use this wheel as our inspiration

I managed everything but the paper piecing.

Hi Maxine. That Lily is beautiful. It really caught my eye. I see your card is for the Butterfly Challenge. I used to enter this quite regularly but my crafting is always a bit slow just before Christmas and into the new year. As it happens I am working on a card for this challenge now and hope to have it finished today It is not a bit like yours, and I just love the variety we get when we are all working on the same theme.
I like the whole water-colour effect on yours, and the little humming bird is very pretty. Kate x

Wow, what a beautiful card Maxine! I love your no-line coloring, you did a great job at that! I have not been brave enough to try no-line coloring. lol Want to though and maybe one day. I'm in awe that you met all but one thing on the challenge wheel! You rock! Love those stamps as well, especially that hummer. Hugs, Brenda
