1 + 2 + 3 = 4 and Counting

Welcome

I have been sorely lacking in mojo of late, and then on Friday last week there was a challenge set in a facebook group that I am part of, and did that get me going!!

(warning, this post is photo heavy)

The challenge was to take one 12" x 12" piece of patterned paper (it could be double sided)
Two colouring techniques
and make three cards (or more).

This is the paper that I chose, part of a RAK from Alicia of Papercraft Secrets,  it is from a Kaisercraft release, Romance, apparently unavailable now, and it is a double sided sheet.

Image may contain: indoor

This was my first card, using an unidentified die cut.  The edges of the card base and paper were sponged first with memento Rhubarb Stalk ink, then with Sweet Plum.  The card was finished with some ribbon and a simple bow.

The next card I embossed the white card base, and used a diagonal cut of the paper.

I was inspired by the STAMPlorations 5th Birthday celebrations to get my Stamplorations stamps out, so stamped this butterfly tile from STAMPlorations Hope Blooms set, coloured with water colour pencils and blended with water.  The card was finished with a fine strip of the paper and some very narrow white lace up the side of the card, and the embossed word hope from the same set.  All edges were swiped over a pad of  Memento Dark Cocoa ink.

My third card used a panel of the paper, a (retired) S/B edge die and layers in a green handmade paper, and the rose and sentiment stamp from Darkroom Door

The rose was stamped in Memento Desert Sand and coloured with poloychromo pencils, the highlights were made with a white Signo pen.

The final card uses both sides of the paper.  There were strips cut from the main sheet and then cut into smaller lengths before being adhered onto a rectangle about 5cm wide.  The Thanks was die cut out of those layers before placing it onto the dark brown base.

I decided that panel was too small for the base, so added a layer of the second side of the paper
the ribbon and flower at one end, and the layered clear Wink of Stella into the die cut. ,

And why the 'And Counting' in the title - I have two more cards at least planned using some of the balance of the original sheet of paper - there is enough paper for a full card base as well as other odds and ends that can be used.....

WOW, I wish my "No-Mojo" would work like this! You've turned out some spectacular cards for this challenge, (and I especially love the small floral pattern paper..it looks SO pretty on each card, combined with the other papers). That's some great pencil work on the lovely rose bud. And I liked the snippets use of the strips as well. Clever design. AND now you've still got paper left for more cards? I'd say you've aced this challenge very well! TFS & Hugs

Wow Maxine, you really got great use from that one piece of double sided paper! I love the paper you chose. The flower side is so beautiful and I love the musical side as well, at least I think it is musical. I really love all your cards and your beautiful images. Well done on the coloring as well. And as beautiful as they all are, that butterfly one is my favorite! But again, they are all beautiful and how fun you can get some more cards yet from this paper! Hugs, Brenda

Beautiful cards Maxine! Love the one with the butterflies most. No idea where & why this mojo goes. Now that it's back, I hope it stays on for both of us.

They are all such pretty cards! The one with all the butterflies is my favorite! I was having a difficult time getting back into card making too. That's when I challenged myself to try and use up so much of one paper pack. It worked! Thank goodness!
