Welcome
It's a slow process this purging and packing - but I did get this card done!
I have had this Magnificent Sunflower 3-D embossing folder for a while now, and decided that I needed to use it. So I embossed a long, narrow snippet of white card that was on my desk.
I decided to colour it with chalks, using a cotton bud (Q - Tip) . As can be seen in this and the following photo, I built up the colours and shading using repeated layers
Once I was happy with the colours I sprayed it with a sealant to secure the colour on the card.
The sentiment was clear embossed over Memento Dandelion Ink, on white card, and then double mounted over another snippet of yellow card.
Some sequins and bakers twine finished the outside of the card.
The inside was finished with washi tape

How clever to layer on the chalks, Maxine. Looks very effective. Is there a homemade sealant one can use such as dabbing it with rubbing alcohol or something? I generally don't use a sealant and it works fine. What say you?
Love,
Monica
Well, Maxine, I am impressed with the colouring you have done on this gorgeous sunflower. If I had used chalks I am sure they would have been all over the place. Gorgeous build up of colour too.
Don't purge too much we need you to carry on with the crafting so you must not dispose of too much crafting goodies - purge something else. (Just smiled to myself as i thought of purging clothes - we don't need them these days as we don't go out socialising with this dreadful Covid about do we.
Stay safe and well - God Bless, Neet xx
Love the gorgeous sunflower and your chalked colouring...thanks for reminding me I have a box of artist chalks and oh gosh so much one forgets what I have. xxx
This card is stunning Maxine!

A lovely sunflower card Maxine, I haven't used my chalks for such a long time, thanks for the reminder!
I'm glad you are taking breaks in between packing and purging to relax and make cards, Maxine! This sunny sunflower is sensational! I love your chalk coloring with cotton buds. Wow, chalk is something else I've had since forever and forget I even have, so thanks for the reminder! And thank you so much for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell
Lovely card.
I'm sure it's a really busy time for you.
Jim and I live in the very first house we have ever purchased. Lived here a very, very long time. I dread the day I have to pack up my things. I honestly have been slowly getting rid of things, but it isn't easy.
Beautiful!! That embossed panel is fabulous and what a great idea to color it using the chalks! Thanks for playing with The House That Stamps Built.
gorgeous Maxine. I don't envy you with all that packing and purging. Just doing the kitchen was enough for me. Never mind the craft room! Hope all goes well with your move.
This is gorgeous! I have never been able to color embossed images, the coloring always gets all over! You did a splendid job on this!
How lovely. Who doesn't love a sunflower. Well done on using the chalk. It is not a medium I have had much success with. I love the card and I am sure it will make someone smile. Something we could all do with right now.
I hope your move went smoothly. I have been a bit 'absent' lately and didn't realise you were moving until a very recent post.
keep making these lovely cards wherever you are. Kate x
Glad you found some time to have a break from packing and create this gorgeous card :)

Beautiful - love the embossed sunflower and then how you built the colors up using chalks. I need to get my chalks out. We all need a break to "create" so happy you took time to join us over at The House that Stamps Built.
I love this card Maxine, it is just so pretty and happy feeling, sends lots of sunshine! You have chalked it so well and didn't even get outside of the "lines". I love how you built up your color and have some shading in your sunflower. Looks amazing! I used to color on my embossing but haven't done it in a long time now. Need to do it again as it is so fun and give a whole different look. Hugs, Brenda
This is so beautiful. You did a fabulous job with coloring the sunflower. I know it couldn't have been easy since you are dealing with a bum wrist right now. I hope that heal soon.
Beautiful

How charming, Maxine! Lovely sunflower card and this looks like it was a lot of love put into it with the q-tip and taking your time to blend! I haven't used chalks in forever! Hugs for the packing and move :)
This card is so beautiful. My hubby brought me home a bunch of sunflowers the other day, I love them.

Beautiful sunflower. I love the chalk coloring. Nice and cheerful! Thanks for joining us at Krafty Chicks this week.
I really LOVE this one, Maxine. The embossing and inking are wonderful. I'm trying to learn new inking techniques. But you know me....that creature of habit. And it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks; but I am trying. You always inspire me.
Blessings,
Karen
Maxine, this is gorgeous! Sunflower is my late mother's favorite and whenever I see one I always tell myself that she is with me :)
Beautiful sunflower card Maxine! Wonderful colouring and shading with chalks! Good luck with the purging and packing! xx
Maxine this is absolutely gorgeous. I love sunflowers and this is a wonderful embossing folder. Well done for cracking it open. I guess you are moving home hnce the packing and purging. I do hope it all goes well for you. Make sure you do a good inventory of the contents and number your craft room boxes. I found it made a massive difference when I mvd house as I could unpack each individual box straight in situ and it stops you getting in a mess.
Thank you very much for your lovely card and entering it into our challenge. Good luck with the prize draw.
Stay healthy, happy, keep crafting and Creating Joy :)
