A Swinked Scripture

Welcome

I recently discovered the technique of Swinking, as named by Laurel and Ardyth!
Their video  tutorials are here and here  and I had great fun making up some backgrounds, one of which I used for this weeks Word Art Wednesday's DT card.
Our Sponsor this week is  Stamp Simply
who always supplies a generous prize of a voucher to be spent on their wonderful products.
My apologies, I made this card without checking who our sponsor was, and did not use any of the product supplied.

This weeks scripture, which is available free on the blog, was designed by Karen Murray.  I die cut it with a M.B. Stitched Rectangle, and mounted it onto the background with a pair of tiny banners, cut from the same red card as the base.

The background was made by swiping three Catherine Pooler inks, Lemoncello, Aquatini and Blue Suede Shoes down a piece of lightly dampened watercolour paper, lifting the pad before I reached the bottom of the panel.

I also sprayed it with some lemon mica spray, which gave an almost splashed effect where it reacted with the inks, giving a subtle touch of texture

The inside of the card was finished with some washi tape

Another great technique for me to try - thanks Maxine.
I love the way you have done this card, you have certainly mastered the technique and used it in a perfect way with the lovely script which was a freebie.
Sorry I am late visiting, been away and computer-less.
Blessings, Neet xx

Laurel's video was so funny! I loved all of Ardyth's backgrounds she made into cards, have always loved her CAS card designs. Both ladies are so talented, but I have to say that Laurel cracked me up and I am loving her new word for ink swiping. Swinking is just so cute! Love how bright and cheery your scripture card is Maxine! The lemon mica spray did give a splash look effect and I love it. I need to do some swinking playing it seems! lol Hugs, Brenda

I love Washi tapes dear Maxine! Even the plain colored ones give so much effect to an art or a card or a letter :) Love having them. And you chose perfect colors for this card :)

This card is awesome Maxine. So much detail in the creating of the background. I love your colors and the finishing of the inside takes this card right over the top. Great job.

You have done so well with the technique, Maxine. As I always say, what a creative crafter you are - always trying out new techniques. I love the words here - that is how the principle of manifestation or law of attraction works.
Hope your house move is going well/ has gone well and so did the purging.

Love,
Monica
