Simply Swiped

Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to my newest follower, Jessica, who's blog is here.

This challenge's sponsor over at Word Art Wednesday is Swoon Party Shop

I was inspired by this video by Natasha Foote in making this style of card.

I made the background by simply swiping the ink pad over the background card.
I used a swirling motion when applying the ink pad (Lucky Clover DOX ink).

I then distressed the sides of the scripture panel with scissors - gently as I was using copy paper, then I sponged it with Tea Dye DI., and splattered it with black paint from a fine paint brush.

The cardstock used for the base has a linen texture to it, which added even more interest to the background.

The inside was finished with some washi tape.

Sometime the seemingly simple cards are quite the opposite. Very creative. Love the verse you used. Our God is great and loving.

I like the swinked background Maxine. Never thought to do the swinking in patterns rather than straight lines. Will have to have a go at that myself.
