It's been a rather eventful 24 hours - I slipped on some stairs yesterday and have spent most of today with my leg elevated and with an ice pack on it - thankfully nothing was broken!
Late yesterday my daughter asked for a couple of sympathy cards - she had a funeral to attend today, and wanted to take them with her. I had just made one, so that was given to her, and first thing this morning I made the second one - so early it was before breakfast that I made it. Not my normal at all, but she needed to be travelling quite early to attend the (out of town) service on time!!
Apologies for the poor photography, but my usual spot was in deep shade, it was so early.
The stencilled background was made using a Layers Of Color (now defunct) Medallion stencil and Catherine Pooler Aquatani ink
The cross was layered up three times and mounted over the stencilling (Die brand unknown)
I layered the feature panel over a layer of very similar coloured card, then onto the white base
The sentiment is from an old Our Daily Bread Designs set (still available at Divinity Designs)
As was the sentiment I used inside, but it is no longer available.

Oh no, I hope you are feeling better soon! Beautiful sympathy card, Maxine. The stenciling and die are perfect. Thanks for sharing at Word Art Wednesday this week!
Ah you and I are good pair Maxine, I'm on bed leg elevated with cold pack. I sinned abd bruised my left shin yest. Arnica cream and pillules, esp good for soft tissue injury, cold pack now on said limb and prayers made and change in 24hrs is remarkable. Truly God. Ive been on cortisone 52yrs abd dead without it.
But means bad bruising and poor healing. That's why Arnica is so great, a real Godsend, and must in first aid kit. I actually keep some in on my handbag 😄, buy from health food store here.
Praying for you.
Love this card.. a great sympathy card, the stencilling partially with diecut popped up is wonderfully effective. Your stamps like mine mostly discontinued. Oldies and goodies.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.
Prayer hugs, 🙏🙏🤗❤

great work to get this done so early in the day. Love the soft colour and the partial stencilling. Take care of yourself.
Beautiful card with the gentlest of stencilling and a fabulous layered die cut x. Sorry to hear about your fall and sending gentle hugs Maxine x.
Sorry you had a fall. Stairs can be a bit treacherous. I hope your leg mends quickly.
Your card is lovely and so perfect for a sympathy one. I may use your idea. At my age, it is always good to have a sympathy card available in my box. Its a lovely colour and a beautiful die cut. Kate x
What a great way to use the cross without let it kets all the attention! Hope you are having a good weekend!
Beautiful sympathy card. Love the colors and the cross die cut (I think it is a Simon Says Stamp die (https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Stamp-Wafer-Die-FLORAL-CROSS-sssd111962-Fresh-Bloom-sssd111962?currency=USD

Hi Maxine, I hope you are starting to mend, I too have arnica cream on stand-by for bruising and calendula for scratches and scrapes. A beautiful card for an unfortunate reason, love the soft colour of the inking and the die cut. Thank you for stopping by my blog, have a wonderful weekend... Megan
A beautiful card and hope you feel better soon and thanks for joining us at Crafty Catz in our Anything Goes Challenge
Oh Maxine I am so sorry that you slipped and got hurt. That is awful and I too am glad nothing was broken. What a beautiful sympathy card. I love the cross die cut. Using a stencil behind the cross is genius as it really highlights the beautiful cross. I pray that you feel better REALLY soon.
a sad occasion but a lovely simple card with your stenciled background, thank you for sharing at Crafty Catz challenge, Tilly
Oh gosh do get well soon, and be careful....
A most gorgeously designed card, beautiful colours and texture. x
Feet better.
Hope your leg is better! What an awesome mom to get up early and do that, and it came out so lovely. Thanks for sharing it with us at Polkadoodles.
Nicely made sympathy card. Sorry to hear about your all. Hope all is oK. It's always so scarry too... I tripped over my sweeper last week. So scared to get up and find out that maybe I broke something, etc. No, thank goodness just a little sore from the fall.
Oh dear Maxine I am so sorry to hear about your leg :( I hope you are feeling better and that all the pains will be gone.
That is such a beautiful card! That stenciled background is so beautiful especially how you managed to do a gradient effect towards the lower portion. It looks very clean and inspiring.
Stay safe Maxine and super thank you for your beautiful comment and wishing you the best and stay safe!
A beautiful card! Thanks so much for joining us at Dies R Us for the challenge!
Oh dear, I do hope you have not done any damage to your leg that requires anything more than elevation and ice. Lucky no bones were broken but it sounds painful and I can well imagine you do not like being incapacitated.
That is a lovely card you have made for your daughter. How fortunate she is to have you, her mum, as a card maker. We do come in handy at times. Must say my dil does not like my cards so I don't get called on to help out there.
Blessings, Neet xx
ps yes, it was the Milly Molly Mandy books of my childhood that made me call my characters by those names this week. Someone commented that there is a song featuring the name too but it was the book that did it with me. So glad to hear of someone else who remembers the books.
Very pretty card. Sorry about your tumble, but hope you are back on your feet soon.
You do some amazing work! I know it will be appreciated.
I do hope your feeling better :)
I hope you are feeling better now Maxine. The card is fabulous, I love that background stencilling to show off your diecut. CarolG
