In the Garden

Welcome

Today marks the start of the May challenge at We Love Stamping, where the optional theme this month is In The Garden

I started with the green, lightly textured cardstock, and stamped the one stamp I used (from a now defunct company) randomly over it to form a background, using Versa fine Clair ink in Rain Forest

I then stamped the image on some grey/blue card I had smooshed in leftover inks, this time in the Pine Cone ink of the same brand.  This I painted using Twinkling H2)'s

The sentiment, part of a Hero Arts set, was gold embossed onto the background
Butterflies were added to add some movement - they were cut using an old Memory Box die

The final detailing of the card was the same stamp stamped 'off the page' on the insert

What a great idea using coloured card stock for the base stamping Maxine, makes the top panel pop and nice with the matching envie.

Great idea to use the stamp at an angle for the background. Love those tiny butterflies too.

What a great way to use a stamp so many times and so different the one on the background; great idea! Enjoy the weekend!

This is such a pretty floral birthday card, Maxine! I love how you used the focal image and stamped it randomly to make your own DSP background! WHY do Hammy and I always forget about painting with the Twinklers??! (Not to mention stamping the inside and the envie! Slap!) Your painting is lovely and your golden butterflies do add a ton of interest and movement. Hugs, Darnell

Oh my, I am loving these colors on this card Maxine! The gold shimmers so beautifully on that green. Love the stamp you used, it made a beautiful background and focal point. Love it on your smooshed layer. I love how you carried this stamp to the inside as well as all over the envelope, how fun! Hugs, Brenda

You certainly had fun with this stap. I love how you used it as the central image and coloured it so successfully.
Good idea to decorate the envelope too. I just received some mail and the envelope was stamped, it brought such joy to me.
Blessings, Neet xx
