Encouragement

Thanks so much for visiting - I trust you feel welcome here.
The card I want to share today is one that wish to give to a friend stepping out on a short term missions trip.

I used the Layers of Color stamp sets Gothic Crosses and  Encouragement.

The cross was stamped and embossed in gold on cream card - it is a darker cream IRL.

The sentiment was also gold embossed and cut with a Spellbinders Lacy Circle, and sponged with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink before removing the die.

The dp is from the Prima Fairy Flora 6x6  stack, and embossed  de-bossed with the Swiss Dots folder.

The final detail was to add this hand died seam binding that was a RAK from Lovely Linda  and mount it all on cream card stock which I had sponged the edges of with more gold ink.

Framed - in pink!!

Yes, a second post in as many days!!
Welcome back, and thank you for visiting.
I have made various cards recently with specific challenges in mind, and have not posted them in time, hence this post.
The challenge that this has been made for is over at Lily Pad Cards, and is the dimensional challenge.

For the first time, I have made a frame using two Labels 14 Spellbinders dies,  then ran it through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and sponged the edges with Whispers Plum ink.

Next I cut a matching piece of acetate, and stamped an image from the Granny's Jewellery  stamp set by Layers of Color in Staz On ink.  On an identical piece of white card I stamped the same image again.

The back of the acetate was painted with twinkling H2Os, and also the ribbon on the card image.  The flowers on the paper copy had rhinestones added for colour, which adds a real depth to the colours.

The frame was mounted on the card base, which had a piece of marbled mauve dp on it, using foam mounting dots.

The final details were pale mauve ribbon and pink rhinestones.

MMSC #90

Greetings to my visitors once again - I am so flattered that you keep coming back to visit.

This card was made for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #90, and with a specific person in mind.  Some time ago I tried the "Black Magic" technique and this time it worked - I ended up with a row of samples all coloured up with Stampin' Up pencils, so when I reached for this image, it set the colours for the balance of the card.
I love the way the colours almost shimmer in strong light and the white highlights really bring the image to life.
This was mounted on a spellbinders lacy square, which I had cut in white card and backed with some blue.
The rest of the card was constructed to the sketch, using mid-yellow paper that was embossed with the Swiss dots folder, over cream card.  For the other features I used pink ribbon and card, and blue half pearls, and punched the bottom border with a Fiskars punch.
The lacing on the corners of the image was done using some multi coloured metallic thread  that I had on hand, and I used pearls to accent this too.
