Spray, Sparkle and Bleach

Welcome

I have recently been 'playing' with bleach on my cards... this time I used Brushos in the background, activating them with both a Lindy's spray and water on watercolour paper.

I had taped my paper down before making the background, thus the colours did not really 'run', but stayed as speckled, aided by the fact I used minimal moisture.

I stamped and copper embossed this fabulous image from Rubberdubadoo Stamps - (it
is one of my oldest stamps, and has been well used - I was so pleased to see they still stock it!)
I then bleached out the background inside the pear and leaves, and when it was dry, I painted  the areas with watercolours - the bleach was not fully dry, and I had fun with the paint reacting to it ...

To keep to the rustic/autumnal feel of the panel, I layered burlap, organza and sparkly gold ribbons on the left of the panel, and die cut and stamped a tag with the sentiment embossed in copper, adding some more of the sparkly gold ribbon to the tag.

This last photo shows some of the shimmer and shine in the background

I did add some washi tape to the inside of this card, but had written in it before I remembered to photograph it!

I may not be visiting blogs for the next two weeks as I will be in an area without internet access, but I will pre-schedule some posts, and hope that they 'work'.

This looks amazing, Maxine. Love the splatters of color! I've only used bleach once in card making at a stamping class so many years ago. Somehow I always shy away froom using it.

A really lovely Brusho backgrond which really sets of the focal image which would make a great masculine card. I was also playing with bleach yesterday, very effective on Brushos. It's lovely to see you at our 10th Birthday celebrations at Allsorts, thanks so much for joining in the fun.

A great result Maxine. I love the stamped pear with its flecks and shades of colour, and the background is so pretty. That is new way to use bleach for me. I have some bleaching card that Barbara Gray used to demonstrate, but I never had much success with it.
Well done on another great card. Kate x
